'Tiger' Sues PGA Tour -- I Was Unfairly Ejected!!!

7/7/2011 10:35 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

A grown ass man shows up to a PGA tournament in a bright orange "Tiger" suit in the hopes of cheering on his hero Tiger Woods ... but according to a new lawsuit, something went terribly wrong.

The SUPERFAN -- Jason Goodwin (pictured above) -- claims he got "pre-permission" to wear his spirited costume to the TPC Boston tournament in 2010 ... but once he arrived to the course, one of the golfers flipped out.

Goodwin, who says he had a valid ticket for the event, claims security escorted him off the course after the 1st hole ... because Tiger's playing partner, Angel Cabrera, complained the tiger suit was "too bright and bothersome."

Goodwin filed a small claims lawsuit against the PGA in Boston, insisting his civil rights were "infringed upon" -- and he wants $7150 to make things right.

Goodwin tells TMZ ... he chose the amount because it's the most he's allowed to sue for in small claims court ... adding, "I want to make the point that you can't tell people what to wear."

Calls to the PGA have not been returned.

What an ass! You CAN tell someone what to wear on a golf course. There are dress codes. There are also rules about behavior and actions that distract players. Golf is about the players, not the spectators. He should try another sport if he wants to be able to act like it's a hockey game or soccer match.

"What is the difference between this and mascots wearing colorful suits and dancing around at other professional sports events?"

The difference is that golf is the last bastion of civility. Do you want golf tournament attendees wearing cheese wedge hats or painted blue and blowing air horns?!?

First IF SOMEONE DRESSED LIKE AN "ANGEL" Angel would be fine.

Isn't ANGEL SUPPOSED TO KEEP HIS EYE ON THE BALL AND NOT THE CROWD??????

IF TIGER WOODS CAN PLAY WITH HELICOPTERS ABOVE ANGEL CAN PLAY...

He's the only one that complained???? HHhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm

@KAM The reason he was the ONLY one who complained (and how do we really know others didn't), was because he was the ONLY one playing with TW.

This is a non-starter and this guy is off his chain. Go back to your rock you dildo head. PGATour has rules to follow not for you to make up your own rules. STUPID!!

I'm not sure what "pre-permission" means, but if he obtained written permission from the organizers prior to the tourney and then they ejected him anyway, he has a valid case IMO.

this is precisely why I HATE GOLF AND GOLFERS. a bunch of pompous douche bags.

they call themselves athletes, they call golf a sport, but i don't see pro football, basketball, hockey, baseball etc. players bitching about face paint or crazy outfits or noise, do you??? those people play under real pressure regardless of what is happening around them, or god forbid, what a fan is wearing.

there is a difference between people who like to play golf, and GOLFERS. golfers are a-hole rich types who love their fancy country clubs and revel in the fact that most of us can't afford, nor get into them for one reason or another. and that's the way they like it.

this guy should absolutely win his $7150 claim, and furthermore, the pga should toss in a few bucks, issue an apology and be thankful people still show up at these things to watch rich people kiss each others asses while they play a stupid game.

GET OVER YOURSELVES.......JERKS.

This guy has a very valid point... What about the raider fan with spikes on his shoulders, what about the bruins fan dressed in all yellow spandex. All these people paid to get in and should have the right to represent there sport/fans as they feel. As long as there not insulting anyone or causing a distubance. He deff. was violated and should recieve compensation... This could open up a whole can of worms for FANS accross the world!!! Go Tiger Guy!

When the hell will these stupid cases be thrown out?
Golf is a game of concentration and skill. A stupid, bright orange tiger would be a distraction.
ps. notice I said game and not sport.

If the home-dogs can wear their pants down to their knees showing off their junk, then this man can wear a tiger suit.

"too bright and bothersome" only means he has never played a round with Jesper Parnevik.
