WM3 Heads to DMV

We Want to DRIVE!!!

8/19/2011 2:48 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0819-west-minster-three-labeled-EX
Moments after the West Memphis 3 were released from prison -- two of the men went straight to the DMV to get their very first driver's licenses. As if they haven't suffered enough ...

Sources close to the guys tell TMZ ... Damien Echols and Jason Baldwin went right from court to a nearby Arkansas Department of Motor Vehicles ... while Jessie Misskelley went home to spend some time with his family.

The guys should feel pretty comfortable at the DMV ... they're used to waiting around a long time for no reason.

After leaving a jail the last place you go is the DMV, that'll make em commit a crime by itself. It's like getting out of rehab after a year or so then heading right to the crack-house. Perfect since right?

The fact that these 2 never turned on each other and have remained close throughout the entire process speaks volumes. If they were real criminals that NEVER would have happened. I get the sense they don't want any further involvement with Misskelley and I can't say that I blame them. Granted the guy is borderline retarded and was bound to mess up, I think they're very leery of him. He could have been the weak link that prevented them from going all the way with the new trial.

Just glad they're able to celebrate and spend time with all of the people who aided in their cause.

You know what these guys are not that old only 36 i mean thats pretty young to have served 18 years behind bars. they were just kids themselves when they went in.

Wait these guys just admitted guilt to 3 murders. And 1 of them admitted guilt after being arrested. Bet you wouldn't feel so sorry for them had one of the murdered kids been your family member.

They defined bravery. You know damn well most people in this situation would commit suicide. Being imprisoned for life while being innocent of the crime is the closest thing to hell on earth. It makes logical sense the first thing they do is to seek driver licenses. I would immediately drive off and never look back in order to start living for all that time lost.

They're probably terrified the cops are going to charge them with something related to not having proper IDs. I hope they get the hell out of Arkansas ASAP.

Lock up your children, these convicted murderers were and are guilty as sin and they should be in prison forever. They hookwinked some stupid celebrities and now a judge, how tragic, there will be more kid killings soon, next full moon.

Hey Mark, it's Tennessee you dolt not California. It's people like you that have made it possible for the real killers of those little boys to go around for the last 18yrs doing who knows what while three teens were locked up because they wore black, one claimed to be Wiccan and one 16yr old with an IQ of 72 was coerced into a confession. It would be interesting to see if the new DNA comes up in any other crimes on file.

The people on here who still think these guys murdered those boys have obviously not read up on this situation. They are totally innocent and I know I speak for many when I say...SO GLAD YOU'RE FREE, BOYS!!!
