Russell Armstrong

Business Associate Commits Suicide

24 Hours After Hanging

8/27/2011 11:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Russell Armstrong
's friend and business associate committed suicide the day after Russell's body was found hanging from a beam in his bedroom ... TMZ has learned.

Alan Schram -- the managing partner of Wellcap, an L.A-based hedge fund -- was found on August 16 outside of his car on Mulholland Drive with a gunshot to his head.  The L.A. County Coroner concluded Schram's death was a suicide.

Alan was connected with an exclusive group called Tiger 21 -- a organization of high net-worth folk who jawbone with each other about investments ... and we're told Russell Armstrong was a member of Tiger 21, even though he was clearly having money trouble.

We're also told they became friends, and during Russell's memorial, Taylor and some of the other "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" were talking about how shocked they were that the two men killed themselves -- possibly a day apart.

As we previously reported, Russell, who did not leave a suicide note, was in deep distress over money problems.  As for Alan, he also did not leave a note, and his money situation is unclear.

All these comments are disgusting. Whether these two men's suicides are related to each other is tragic, not funny in the least.
Russell was having money problems because he married the wrong woman. A woman who thought nothing of throwing a 4 year olds birthday party to the tune of $60...,000.00. Trying to keep up with the Jone's as they say.
We don't even know who this woman is, she's changed her name many times and we don't know why.
Russell was just trying to make his wife happy by getting on the Real Housewive's show, only to fall victim to her wanting to be rich like the other housewive's actually are.
Well now she will have nothing, go back to the trailer park from which you came Taylor. You have blood on your hands, get some strong soap to get it off.

Did this guy beat the fish-lipped whore too? Can't wait to see how the C-Bag gold-digger can work this into the script.

Boo freakin' hoo. "Oh, I can't live in a mansion anymore so I'm going to kill myself". Good riddance.

its bad enough when people people kill themselves but to not even know why makes it worse for those who loved them

It prolly wasn't suicide. I wonder if the same coroner is handling both cases.

The heart is a good touch TMZ, I was going to say they probably were a couple and didn't want it out there. For all we know Russell may have punched her in the face when she threatened to expose them. He also probably told her to stop spending like a drunken Taylor I mean sailor. She retaliated by exposing him, and his lover knew he was next. Get rid of ALL the Housewives of wherever before someone else pulls the plug.

Where was Taylor when this incident occurred?

What's up with white men? Everytime there's a financial bump in the road with them, they can't find a rope, gun, or tall building fast enough. At least this time they didn't take their children and wives with them.

Did Taylor juice up the drama by outing him as well?

So can we please now stop trying to blame the network? I hope everyone who tried to blame reality tv for this now issues an apology. They volunteered to be on tv to make $ & be famous & all that entails. And clearly, this was over $ and other things. And if he is the batterer alleged, his skeletons were being exposed because they put themselves in that position. No one to blame in suicides but the person.

People were finding out their scams and they were getting sued left and right. They couldn't take the mess they created, so they committed suicide.
