'Glee' Star

Bruising Photo to Help

Domestic Violence Victims

9/4/2011 12:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

It seems ironic ... but the brutal photo of "Glee" star Heather Morris sporting a fake black eye will be auctioned off soon ... and all of the proceeds will go towards a domestic violence charity ... TMZ has learned.

The photo ignited a major controversy when it was released on the Internet a few days ago -- with some critics saying it glamorizes violence against women.

But Tyler Shields, the photog behind the shot, tells us that was NOT the intention -- and he's sorry it came off that way.

Shields says ... to make up for the controversy, he'll be auctioning off the photo, starting at $100k, and will donate every single cent he makes to a top domestic violence charity.

Check out this guys work. He is absolutely all about glamorizing violence and drugs. A vast majority of his photos involve someone having a gun pointed at them or being covered in blood. He's a douche bag and a liar who likes to present himself as some sort of cool, hip, trendy, quirky, loveable dude when really? He's just a complete jack ass, spoiled man-child with an giant, over-blown ego that believes his own promotional schpeel. Completely over-rated and totally full of crap.

I am Spartacus

What do you tell a woman with 2 black eyes? Nothing, she's already been told twice.

But all kidding aside this photo shoot was done with the sole purpose of shock value creating headlines. He knew taking a girl from such a popular tv show and doing a photo shoot like this would get him attention and guess what... it worked.

Why anyone would shoot with Tyler Shields is beyond me. I know him and he's a coke addict. He also personally stole $100,000 from a work project on mine and won't return it. He had NO intention of donating to charity on this one ... just a nice little spin as usual.

Hey Tyler,

Why not take a pic of a Black hanging from a tree in a noose..ya know to show support for Black equality and all. You could fix their hair and dress them up real pretty. Then ya know, act all confused if anybody is upset with you. Why don't you try that?

It's called damage control. I hope no one takes his money and no one buys this picture. A picture glamorizing abuse will donate proceeds of the picture's sale to victims of abuse? what the...!?!?!

The photo is morbid and it only glamorizes violence. Lame idea from young people with good activist spirit but not enough real world experience.

This ******* knew exactly what the reaction was going to be. So he gets him name in the news for his revolting picture and for his "donation". Cynical amoral putz!
Why the actress did not know better (or her management) did not know better I am not sure.
The whole thing is disgusting. Not forgiven.

There's a problem here

If they're really trying to get the point across why paint a pretty girl's eye with make up? Why not show her with her eye swollen shut with the white part completely reddened, with a split lip, and maybe top it off with a Chris Brown Special, a shoeprint on her forehead? This picture? Domestic abuse ain't this pretty folks.

She has a black eye, so that *must* mean she was the victim of domestic violence? Huh?!?

People read way too much into things...

glamorizing abuse? and who the hell is going to want this picture? I would just donate the money and throw the pic in the dumpster on the way out.

HOW exactly does this glamorize violence against women? yeah - her expression definitely looks like she's having loads of fun. I don't get it. There are plenty of media images that send horrible messages to women. This isn't one of them.

It's not just this photo, there are several others, one at least which DOES appear to glamourize domestic violence. Her hands are tied up w/ an iron cord, and a man is holding the iron. Meanwhile, she still has a black eye and is smiling. How that doesn't glamourize domestic abuse is beyond me.
