Brooke Mueller Sues Rehab Clinic

They Sold Me Down the River!

10/3/2011 5:28 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

1003_BROOKE_MUELLER_TMZ_EX
Brooke Mueller
is suing the rehab facility she trusted for treatment, claiming the facility SOLD confidential medical information to the media ... TMZ has learned.

Brooke's beef is with the The Canyon rehab facility in Malibu -- where she secretly sought help in February 2010 --  at the peak of her domestic violence case against Charlie Sheen.

According to the lawsuit, days after she checked in, news broke that Brooke was seeking treatment for substance abuse ... and Brooke claims rehab staff members leaked the info.

TMZ broke the story after the leak ... someone was sending Brooke's patient admissions document to members of the media ... including TMZ, and the form very specifically outlined Brooke's problems.  TMZ never published info from the document.

Brooke claims it was all a crass money grab from staffers at The Canyon -- and now, she's suing for undisclosed damages, claiming her right to privacy has been violated.

A rep for The Canyon had no comment, although as we first reported, after the leak The Canyon officials said they would conduct their own internal investigation.

Considering she has absolutely no talent, and her only claim to fame is a brief marriage to Charlie Sheen, perhaps she should be grateful for the publicity. I mean, her drug use is hardly a secret. She's done herself in publicly.

Selling confidential information to the media? How shocking! TMZ didn't participate in this one, laughable!

That's Right

It doesn't matter who the person is or what they have done, and when they release personal and private details of their lives to a professional, the professionals must uphold their oath and office policies. Sadly gossip has a price and many have sold clients personal information for money. What many may not know is “even non famous people personal history is a subject of gossip”. Professionals like “Doctors, Attorneys etc” often reveal clients and patients private business when speaking to others. She may have drama in her life but she went to a place of business for help, and if they are guilty, they must be punished. If I was in her shoes I would be outraged and do my best to prevent future patients from that type of humiliation.

Why didn't TMZ leak the do***ent? TMZ apparently had no problem leaking information from the courts with regard to Mel Gibson! I find it laughable that TMZ is trying to pretend they are above that type of thing now. Keep the giggles rolling TMZ!! Why protect Brooke? She's not big enough for you to bother taking down?

Brooke is hoping for a big pay day so she can buy more drugs. Of course she would never consider getting a real job!
Some jerk at the clinic just gave this loser a big pay day.

Well, since the info was leaked to TMZ this is a pretty stupid story.

So what is it Harv? Do you regularly pay tipsters to violate patient confidentiality? Of course you do.
