Natalie Wood Investigation

Robert Wagner NOT a Suspect

11/18/2011 10:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

111811_presser_videoRobert Wagner is not a suspect in Natalie Wood's death -- this according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department -- but a spokesperson says they've received new information that was "substantial enough" to reopen the investigation.

Lt. John Corina wouldn't go into detail about the new information during a news conference -- but said it was credible, and that two homicide investigators have been assigned to the case ... 30 years after Natalie's drowning was ruled accidental.

Lt. Corina also wouldn't say if Natalie's body would be exhumed, or if Christopher Walken -- who was on the boat the night of Natalie's death -- would be interviewed.

There were four people aboard the boat that night---Wagner, Walken, boat captain, and Wood. One is dead. If Wagner isn't a suspect, that leaves Walken and the boat captain. Makes no sense.

The rumor has always been Wagner and Wood got into a violent argument that night and she ended up in the water, which she was deathly afraid of.

This has to be a smokescreen by LAPD. Wagner has always been suspected of having a hand in Wood's death.

Robert Wagner has always been suspected to have had an involvement in her death. How could he not be a suspect?

Let me guess what's next for the LAPD - re-opening of the Jimmy Hoffa case?

That means nothing. They don't label people as suspects anymore until they have a lot of evidence and are essentially ready to arrest them.

Why bother with a news briefing like this where the whole point is to tell untruths? Of course Wagner's a suspect and of course Walken will be re-interviewed. They can't investigate properly without interviewing anyone who was there that night and there's no reason to re-open the investigation unless they think someone is responsible and it was not an accident. If that's the case, everyone on that boat is a suspect. I hate it when cops try to PR. They suck at it. And I agree with the consensus. Sadly, it's too little too late, so the whole exercise is a waste of time and taxpayer money.

Of course he's not a suspect: He's a rich Hollywood actor celebrity. Different rules apply to him, just like the Low-hans and all those other idiots. All he has to do is take a photo with the judge, and autograph it, and he gets away with murder. By the way, he DID it.

Wonder if Wagner still owns the yacht, that would be creepy.

Christopher Walken's not a suspect, Robert Wagner's not a suspect. Who the hell else could have done something to her (if it wasn't an accident)??? Of course Wagner will be named a suspect as soon as they decide they have a case.

Robert Wagner is not a suspect TODAY.
Her death was considered accidental TODAY.

Things could change, depending on the investigation.
Walken was asleep.
The captain could be considered an accessory or conspiracy to cover-up.

This was an early case of celebrity justice, I doubt the LA county sheriffs department have any more power now than they did back then.
