Nelly ran up a $20,403.64 credit card bill with American Express -- which seems totally reasonable for a big name rap star. Just one problem ... AMEX says he never paid it!
The credit card company filed a lawsuit against Nelly (real name Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr) in Missouri back in October to try and get their money back (plus another $3,000 in attorney's fees). So far though, they claim Nelly has refused to pay what he owes.
A court hearing is scheduled for January 9. Calls to Nelly's camp were not returned.

Foreclosure will soon follow if this guy doesn't make another hit record. Highly unlikely though considering hes a terrible artist (& i use the term loosely) whose prime has long passed. Unfortunately the lavish lifestyle of these rappers often lead to financial ruin. I gotta say it sure is fun to read about, though.
I am sure he is on a spending spree over Christmas, then will do a bankruptcy and wipe it clean in the spring.
Linds never pays ANY of her debts, yet the credit keeps getting extended to her, so why would anyone else feel the need to pay?
You look at these people and you think they got good sense. (That's if the story is true). Others, take note, this will be your face sitting up here next, bank on it.
I feel bad for the guy. He can't pick up a quick million posing for Playboy.
He just made an appearance on X factor, maybe he can pay them off with that money. Sure he didn't sing for free.
Well his career has gone down the drain as well as the clothing line Apple Bottoms...who wears that cr@p?...He hasn't had a hit in what?... 10 years now?
You would think he has that kind of money. What the hell did he do with the ( probably MILLIONS) money when he was still relevant!?
A brotha has to have his bling! just chill American Express, you'll get paid when you get paid
Come on Harvey, throw homeboy a bone.
Read the AMEX contract. There's an arbitration clause in that bad boy.
Invoke it and get the case out of court and into arbitration.
Let AMEX spend $75k trying to collect $20k.
These RAPPER idiots have 1 big hit and think theyre gonna last forever
