Dr. Conrad Murray

Back to Court to Prove

MJ Partly Caused His Own Death

1/10/2012 1:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Conrad Murray
Dr. Conrad Murray
is asking the judge in his criminal case to deny Michael Jackson's family full restitution, on grounds MJ caused his own death.

Murray filed legal docs yesterday -- obtained by TMZ -- asking for evidence the defense never received during the trial ... evidence that could show Michael self-administered the fatal dose of Propofol.

Murray's lawyer, Michael Flanagan, argues that in deciding how much restitution the family gets, it's appropriate to consider the victim's responsibility for his own demise.

So Murray will concede he's partly to blame -- he can't argue otherwise because of the conviction -- but he still wants to prove that MJ ultimately caused his own death.

The prosecution is asking for around $100 million in restitution, but the judge hasn't decided on a figure.  But once the figure is set, if Flanagan gets his way and the judge were to decide MJ was 50% responsible for his death, the judge would reduce the restitution award by 50%.

So the fat lady hasn't sung ... yet.

isn't this the same judge that reamed him in court after the verdict? he's wasting his time and money. he should've thought of that before pumping his patient full of drugs that were to be administered in a hospital.

To all you Michael Hater's out there. BRO! Go get a life and stop bringing down a innocent man. if you haven't forgotten that what your saying about Michael is cruel and cold hearted. Michael was a great man, and where he is today i bet he still is. What Dr Murray did was against legal protocol. When he took an oath to become a doctor he swore that he wouldnt do anything that he has done to anyone. He could have walked away and said no, simply he didn't. So stop hating on Michael and focus on the laws Dr Murray had broke. He says he didnt mean it but thats no the case, the case is he shouldn't have had administered the drugs in the first place. He should be greatful that, that was the only punishment he got. He's lucky he didnt get 25 years-life sentence. Count himself lucky. and count yourself lucky that a doctor that breached protocol has had their license removed. it could have been anyones life. Think about it.. and stop being hypercritical

Rest Easy Michael, We all love you bro.
Miss you heaps.

A Child Is A Song

When children listen to music, they don’t just listen. They melt into the melody and flow with the rhythm. Something inside starts to unfold its wings – soon the child and the music are one. I feel that way, too, in the presence of music, and my best moments of creativity have often been spent with children. When I am around them, music comes to me as easily as breathing.

Each song is a child I nourish and give my love to. But even if you have never written a song, your life is a song. How can it not be? In wave after wave, Nature caresses you – the rhythm of each dawn and each sunset is part of you, the falling rain touches your soul, and you see yourself in the clouds that are playing tag with the sun. To live is to be musical, starting with the blood dancing in your veins. Everything living has a rhythm. To feel each one, softly and attentively, brings out its music.

Do you feel your music?

Children do, but once we grow up, life becomes a burden and a chore, and the music grows fainter. Sometimes the heart is so heavy that we turn away from it and forget that its throbbing is the wisest message of life, a wordless message that says, “Live, be, move, rejoice — you are alive!” Without the heart’s wise rhythm, we could not exist.

When I begin to feel a little tired or burdened, children revive me. I turn to them for new life, for new music. Two brown eyes look at me so deeply, so innocently, and inside I murmur, “This child is a song.” It is so true and direct an experience that instantly I realize again, “I am a song also.” I am back to myself once more.

Best Mom

The only thing Michael was "guilty" of was bad judgment in having Murray as his "doctor"! Go away, Flanagan -- you lost and now it's time for Murray to pay his dues!

So actually was Michael ever really told of the true DANGERS of this drug... maybe all he knew was that it did indeed make him get a good sleep... is there any papers signed by MJ like they do in a hospital which then clears responsibility for the givers actions?? I often wonder if he was just so trusting in what the "doctors" recommended and did not question as so many other of us are.

Dr. Conrad Murray - The Jackson Family scapegoat. The drug addict MJ was responsible for his own death, as his family sat by and watched him self-destruct. Just blame the other guy... always works.

There is very convincing evidence that Michael Jackson was a disgusting child molester. Those of you who supported him throughout this are child-molester accomplices and most likely enabled him to molest more kids. Good job on that.

The $100 million restitution money that the Prosecution is asking for is so that Murray is binded to the Jacksons for the rest of his life. Of course he doesn't have that kind of money, and they know it, but it's there because if Murray tries to sell his story to anyone, which he already has, the monies will go to MJ's children and he will NOT profit from it himself. He is a greedy man, which he has shown over and over again and having this court restitution over him will shut him up for good.

Okay, why do you always type in all caps? It's obnoxious, and to be honest it makes you look foolish. What you are saying is perfectly reasonable, but the all caps is equivalent to shouting, there's no reason to do that here.

Don't bother you won't get through to Ol' Cement Head.

Flanagan must have been drinking again when he came up with this stunt...
Murray has been found guilty and he is lucky he isnt serving hard time..
The guy has no remorse because he has no conscience ..He is a sociopath..
Frankly if he thinks he needs protection in jail, what does he think will happen when he gets out..
Maybe him and Casey Anthony can shack up together

He's right, but he's still half responsible.

MJ was a veteran at going under the knife so I’m pretty sure he either knew the dangers or was completely incompetent in making decisions about his health and welfare. In the court case, it was revealed that he did discuss it with his “holistic healer” before Murray came into the picture. He also tried to prove his insomnia to her by falling asleep for 5 hours and waking up. That’s not insomnia. For a 50 year old man to wake after 5 hours of sleep is not uncommon, especially if someone is sitting next to you watching you sleep the whole time. Regardless of physical activity, 12 or more hours of sleep is a lot to ask for on a regular basis. Surgical anesthesia is not a cure for insomnia and doesn’t really let you sleep, it knocks you out.

MJ may have been mentally addicted to the drug but I think he was, in many more ways, addicted to medical procedures perhaps as a way of feeling taken care of or getting attention and possibly immediate gratification. A great example of MJ’s addiction to medical procedures is not his cosmetic alterations but the simple fact that he was frequently dehydrating himself and getting IV’s instead taking the simple preventative measure of drinking water.
