'Avatar' Star Zoe Saldana

TO THE RESCUE

After Bloody Car Accident

1/19/2012 11:15 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0119_ZoeSaldana_bauergriffinonline
"Avatar" actress Zoe Saldana is one real-life badass action hero -- rushing to the aid of an elderly woman in L.A. yesterday ... after a car accident left a bloody gash on the lady's face.

According to reports, 33-year-old Zoe was driving along in Culver City when she noticed the accident and jumped into action -- helping the woman out of her car and onto the sidewalk.

Saldana called 911 on her cell phone -- and then stayed by the woman's side until an ambulance arrived.

Just when we thought she couldn't get any hotter.

Ok, that little old lady didn't ask to have her blood face plastered all over TMZ. Shame on you for exploiting her just because a celebrity stopped to help. Ridiculous.

Mark Wahlberg would have been talking to the animals during the whole ordeal.

Thanks for a good and civil story TMZ....Dont know who this Zoe is but glad she helped the elderly woman. Too many people just ignore and keep going these days and then have to pay a big fine.

Do you really need to do a close up on that poor woman who is NOT a celebrity? The wide shot would have been sufficient.

Nice story, but TMZ it is wrong of you to exploit this poor woman who was in this accident and put her face on your website. She is not the celebrity and went through a very tragic and scary thing. I think you should take the photo of her down and apologized. You should be ashamed.

Never move a person out of a car after a car accident. I have friends in law enforcement that said that you're so in shock after an accident, you don't realize how hurt you are. They've treated people who ended up having broken necks but were still up and walking around after the accident. Unless the car is about to blow up, stay PUT!

She should have had her remain in the car until the EMTs arrived and stabilized her neck. Unless the car is on fire, it is best to have the individual remain in the vehicle until EMS arrives.

That's all great that she tried to help, but she should have left the woman in the car and called 911. She might have done more harm than help if the woman had underlying injuries beyond a cut to her face.

That is very nice of her to stop and help. Good for her. More "so-called celebs" could learn from people like Zoe. She didn't think she was too good to help (being an actress). Good job girl!
