Roseanne Barr

Already a (Bong) Hit

with Weed Advocacy Group

2/7/2012 3:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0206_rosanne_EX_01Roseanne Barr's soon-to-be failed run for President just got a little pick me up -- thanks to the biggest pro marijuana group around, which just announced its support for the comic-turned-politician.

The Executive Director of NORML (National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws) -- a guy named Allen St. Pierre -- tells TMZ, the group supports any candidate "who will adopt a pro-cannabis law reform plank as part of their political platform" ... especially Roseanne.

St. Pierre adds, "NORML welcomes Roseanne’s public support for ending a failed 74-year-old Cannabis Prohibition."

As we previously reported, Barr announced her intention to seek the highest office in the land and will go after the Green Party's nomination, campaigning to legalize marijuana.

Roseanne has a long history of being pro pot -- her classic sitcom even did an episode on the subject in the mid 90s. Roseanne also lives in two states (Hawaii and California) with progressive marijuana laws. Probably not a coincidence.

If only pot heads vote, she might just have a chance.

Gary Johnson is also a pro-NORMAL candidate who will appear on close to 50 state ballots this November if he wins the Libertarian nomination. Unlike Roseanne and the Greens, he also supports sound economic policy in addition to experience of 2 terms as Governor of New Mexico and turning his 1 man handyman business into the largest construction company in his state.

If you want sound economics, cut government waste/fraud, low taxes for everyone, bring the troops home and save trillion$, and social freedoms, and don't mind supporting a "3rd party" check out the Libertarian party.

Harvey & gang hope you have this on TMZ live. It is so important. Jails are over crowded with first time offenders. Maybe not in Cali but in other states. Go Roseanne

No one's voting for a candidate whose sole purpose is to legalize marijuana. Country is going through a crisis which is "slightly" more important than weed.

If only pot heads vote...? What idiot wrote that dribble??? How do you think medical marijuana was legalized in California, Oregon, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, New Jersey, Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, Washington D.C., Arizona, New Mexico, Vermont, Michigan and others? How do you think it is getting on the ballot for full legalization in California, Colorado, Missouri, Oregon and Washington?

Maybe this writer should lay off the booze and save brain cells.

It isn't surprising that potheads would support her. I think she may live on that garbage, based on her tweeting..

Good move, Roseanne. But if that's what you are bringing, legalizing and enabling drugs, then we are much better off with you staying at home taking care of your macadamia nut farm!

Why don't they back Gary Johnson, who just so happens to be supported by Willie Nelson. He was a Republican while Governor of Arizona, but he's running as a Libertarian for President. It baffles me that he was ever a Republican, considering he's pro-choice and doesn't think Mexicans are border hopping devils. Maybe it's because he is very fiscally conservative (not a bad idea in this day and age) LOOK HIM UP!!!!

P.S. Can somebody explain to me why taking prozac is superior to marijuana? I mean, unless you like your babies to have birth defects, marijuana is your best bet for depression, anxiety, and a number of other ailments. Seriously, since when did a doctor know better than Mother Nature???

it would be awesome if the gov outlaws cigarette lighters and matches when and if pot is legalized. then only allow the use of lighter devices in designated smoking areas. lol, i'd laugh sooo hard!!!
