Whitney Houston Funeral

The Complete Program

2/18/2012 11:43 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

A complete copy of the program handed out during funeral of Whitney Houston.
TMZ has obtained a complete copy of the program handed out during Whitney Houston's funeral today in Newark, NJ.

The program contains dozens of photos of Whitney -- from when she was a baby, through her chart-topping days and beyond.

Kevin Costner, Clive Davis, Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder were among those that spoke and sung during the service.

As TMZ previously reported, Bobby Brown showed up at the church, but was turned away because he wasn't allowed to bring his nine-person entourage into the church with him.

This is not a time to talk badly about Whitney Houston. This funeral is a celebration of her life and the gift of her beautiful voice that she shared with everyone. Those that want to bring up the bad, yes we all have demons, she had hers too. Only God can judge. God Bless Whitney and let her rest in peace. God Bless Bobbi Kristina, Cissy and all of her family, that they may be comforted in this sorrowful time. God called her too soon for us,but he wanted her now.
Whitney adds her golden voice to his angelic choir

The ads in the middle of the funeral program are crass and insensitive, not to mention publishing a private worship bulletin. TMZ is putting revenue ahead of family privacy.

holy crap - bobby just released the reason why he left - i would have left too - wow makes me think it was planned!!
Bobby Brown left Newark, N.J.’s New Hope Baptist Church shortly after Whitney Houston’s funeral started. In a statement put out by his representative, he explained, “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.”

He continued, “I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur.” I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

Who is anyone to judge another person? It's easy to call someone discussing names and make up horrible poems. Whitney was a person just like u & me. She was a musical icon, but based on how nasty people are w/ what they have said, shows u why she was insecure and never felt good enough. Her homegoing was beautiful and now she will never have to be in the presence of malicious devils. To the person who wished Whitney and her daughter to hell, Nobody but God decides who goes to Heaven Or Hell, So be CAREFUL !!!

The funeral was a well done tribute to an icon, period. Where I'm from that's how it's done. RIP Nippy

Probably one of the most disgusting and low-class funerals I have ever seen. The self-serving speeches and the egoism of many of the speakers with almost humorous if it had not been so disgusting. These people really know how to put on a funeral. I've never seen such disorganization and embarrassing performances as took place at this funeral. I'm sure Whitney would have been embarrassed to tears!

I find it VERY interesting that Bobby released an official statement quite some time ago about what REALLY happened, but the ever quick TMZ has failed to be "ever quick" and post it here. Shame on you TMZ. Didn't Jesse himself say Bobby should have been treated with more respect during that incident, which means there's a lot more to the story than saying he was being a brat about his entourage. I'm no fan of Bobby, I love, love, love Whitney, but you should report fairly and post everything.

The Observer

I am so saddened by the horrific remarks that I have read today. Civilized, compassionate humans treat others as they would wish to be treated(Golden Rule). Judge not because this journey has many twists and turns. Only those taught that they are better than others could spew such vile comments. The home-going for Whitney was actually pretty normal, maybe an hour or so longer than usual because of the many people on the program. We all have cultural norms that are different. It does not mean that the services were done inappropriately, just different from your experience. Expand your mind and the world will be a better place. Whitney's journey was hers and hers alone. No one is trying to rewrite history, just giving respect to someone held in high regards, regardless of her personal trials. During times of grief some of us are taught that if you have nothing good to say then you say nothing at all. My prayers and condolences to Whitney's family and loved ones. RIP! Your gift of song was truly a blessing to all of us who have been touched by it.
