U.S. Marines

Props to WWE for

Firing Randy Orton

4/4/2012 5:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

Randy Orton
WWE honcho Vince McMahon is a HERO for booting Randy Orton out of the upcoming "Marine" movie ... this according to the guys who served in the military unit abandoned by WWE superstar back in 1999.

TMZ spoke with Cpl. Mike Vinn ... who tells us, "On behalf of all the Marines from Aco 1/4 98-02, that were outraged to hear about Randy Orton portraying a Marine in the next movie "Marine: Homefront", I'd like to thank the WWE for pulling Orton from the role when they heard about his disloyal service to the United States Marine Corps."

Vinn adds, "It shows respect for not only the unit I had served in, but for every person that has ever defended this nation.  Thank you WWE."

TMZ broke the story ... WWE officials made the decision to pull Orton from the flick when they discovered the wrestler had received a bad conduct discharge from the Marines in 1999 after going AWOL on 2 separate occasions.

Vince is a business man and business is business with him and it was good for business not to use Randy.I went to military scool with Vince and he and Linda have a special place in their heart for the military and will work with them every chance they get.

WWE didn't just "discover" anything. They've known all along what Orton's military record was. It was discussed, in fair detail, on his DVD "Evolution of a Predator." Bad reporting is bad.

"Once a Marine always a Marine." Make no mistake Randy Orton is a Marine and always will be. He earned the title and no one can take that away from him. However, he also signed a contract and swore an oath. He didn't like being a grunt so he quit, which makes him a coward. For most Devil dogs there's no forgiving him for that. Besides Vince must of pulled some strings because 30+ days in the brig is a little lite for going UA twice and disobeying a direct order from his CO.

Had this been either you or me, finding a job after receiving a bad chicken dinner (Bad Conduct Discharge) would make it really hard to find work as a civilian. It was kind of convenient to have that wrestling career to fall back on.

The only reason he was being pushed so hard in his unit was Clinton was still sending Marines to Kosovo back in 99, and we all know what happen two years later.

He might've made a mistake as a kid, but he has to man up and live with that mistake for the rest of his life. The Marines motto is "Semper Fidelis" which means, "Always Faithful."
He wasn't faithful to his unit, to the Corp, or his country. Therefore he has no right to portray himself as a honorable Marine even in a horrible B-movie.

So this Randy Orton person is a coward and thought he'd would fly under the radar because he's a "tough guy" and attractive. Maybe the women and gay guys fall for that but not the Marines REAL tough guys. [God Bless the US Marines and all our armed forces... Now get them the hell out of those countries---Even the goofy Obama can't articulate a legitimate reason that we're in Afghanistan. "Nation Building"? What ever happened to pursuing BinLadin? Isn't he dead? Why are we still there? The Taliban. THEY LOVE THE TALIBAN... The Taliban can blow up city blocks [crickets], if a one nutcase goes on a shooting spree---DEATH TO AMERICA, Allahu Akbar!!! Sick of the chit!!!!

As others have said, its been public knowledge for years.

I will add this. The Marines that comented were in for under 4 years. I was in for 12 years, and got hurt, I have seen many come and go.

Its not for everyone. We also dont know the details of what happened. Ive known a few people that have gone out like that. For the record, Marines cant go AWOL. AWOl is a term in the army. Its called UA (Unathorized Absence) in the Marines. Also, since it happened so long ago. Im sure its not even listed as a BCD (Bad conduct Discharge) any more. you can appeal it after 6 months and get it upgraded. Ive known alot of people that this happened to. Its probably a General Discharge under honorable conditions by now.

Its not like what he did was violent in nature and at least he tried. He didnt sit home and not sign up. He thought he would try it and he found it wasnt for him. Thats more then what other actors did. Thats more then what the actors of the other 2 Marine movies did.

Honestly, if he would of done the movie and came out maybe in the credits and talk about his experiences while in the service, I would give him credit for that.

You never hear any marines putting him down when hes doing a tribute to the troops events.

People make mistakes, people change their opinions over years.

Im not a fan of Orton for whathes done to the divas back stage (google it), but I dont not like him because of the Marine thing. I think he would be a good fit for the movie. At least he made it through boot camp and knows some of the experiences.

Well Whats better, Them hiring a guy who parades around acting like a marine for the first movie. AKA John Cena. OR A man who will openly admit that he COULD NOT handel the marines!!! AKA Randy Orton. THERE WAS NO NEED TO FIRE HIM FROM THE MOVIE!!!!!! HE WAS 19 WHEN ALL OF HIS PAST WITH THE MARINES HAPPENED!!!!

Shows you who the real douchbags are. The Marines care more about their self image, then actually doing their jobs. It's nice to know I can feel safe every night knowing they are watching to see what ACTOR (In tights) potrays them in movies.
WWE knew about Orton's past since the beginning to the point during a storyline fued with Mich Foley, Foley pointed out he was Dishonorable Discharged.
I don't know whats more pathetic that the Marines were insulted Orton (An ACTOR in tights) was playing one or that the Marines were okay with the way John Cena and Ted Dibiasi Jr. portrayed them in previous films.

Ok, So seriously now?
People are really having a hard time understanding why Marines would be upset that some guy that didn't go through an ounce of what they did, does not have a shred of the respect and honor they have playing the role of an honorable Marine?
Wow...I honestly didn't realize that the stupidity epidemic had actually reached such a severe level. Let me break it down for all of you people still not understanding. I am the proud wife of a Marine vet. Before I married my Marine husband, no I didn't have all of the information I have now as to what they went through. But any douche with a TV or computer or even commonsense could tell you that what they went through wasn't easy. So to have some dude that didn't even experience the hardships or have the devotion that these ACTUAL Marines have is a slap in their face. Now we're not debating the fact that this man kisses his mommy hello and goodbye and gives change to the homeless for freakin sake. We're debating on the fact that this man has no right to even "PRETEND" to be what they REALLY are. It has nothing to do with "Getting over it". They served their country. He didn't even come close to being an actual Marine. He turned his back on it and then wants to go and play a Marine in a movie? That's a joke. I see my husband and his Marine brothers treat the Marine corps with respect and a sense of duty and honor. That isn't something that this man has in the least. He treated the Marine corps like a joke instead of a way of life. So yeah...These men have every right to wanna piss on this dudes head. This man has no right to even PRETEND to be a Marine. He could never amount to anything even close to the actual Marines that have and are protecting your asses! So get over it. Take your pop culture ass over to the article about Lindsey Lohan. Stick to something that would squeeze and kill those last remaining brain cells, you idiots.

I PERSONALLY THINK THAT STINKS FOR RANDY ORTON! EVERYONE INCLUDING THE WWE KNEW ABOUT RANDY GOING AWOL. THEY CAN'T SAY THEY DON'T. WHY DID THEY DO HIM THAT WAY? THE MARINES AND PRODUCERS OF THE MOVIE HAD TO KNOW? WHY OFFER THE ROLE TO HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN? PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES. WE ARE HUMAN! THAT WAS OVER A DECADE AGO ANYWAY!

This is just stupid. Sure, Randy went AWOL YEARS ago and can't be in the movie for whatever reason someone wants to complain about over him playing a role. But Super Cena be in the first Marine movie, plus can come out every night saluting the camera and the crowd with no military background? Seems legit.
