Manny Pacquiao

'I'm NOT Against

Gay People'

Manny Pacquiao says he DOES NOT believe gay people should be put to death ... and blames the media for twisting his words about his stance on gay marriage.

Manny has been under fire ever since the National Conservative Examiner published an interview in which Pacquiao says gay marriage is against the will of God.

The Examiner article includes a reference to Leviticus 20:13 -- which says gays "must be put to death." But now the journalist who conducted the interview is admitting Pacquiao NEVER specifically referenced that bible verse.

Pacquiao has now released a statement saying, "I didn’t say that, that’s a lie ... I didn’t know that quote from Leviticus because I haven’t read the Book of Leviticus yet."

He continues, "I’m not against gay people ... I have a relative who is also gay. We can’t help it if they were born that way."

Still, Manny says he's AGAINST same-sex marriage -- "What I’m critical off [sic] are actions that violate the word of God. I only gave out my opinion that same sex marriage is against the law of God.”

Yeah? Well not everyone in this country/world is religious, and not all of us believe in God. Why should we all HAVE to follow the rules of Christianity even if it's not what we believe in? This country was founded on FREEDOM OF RELIGION, and yet gays aren't allowed to get married because "The bible says so". The bible is NOT law and should not dictate how everyone lives. Don't like the idea of two people who love each other getting married? Well don't worry about it because it's NOT YOUR F_CKING PROBLEM. For f_ck sake! It doesn't matter how much homosexuality "offends" you, or how YOUR religion doesn't approve of it. As long as they're not hurting anyone, people have the right to live their lives however they want. Get over it.

This is getting rediculous. People aren't even aloud to say how they feel without being beaten up for it! So what if he does or doesn't think it's against God's will.... Not everyone is going to agree and I'm not sure we want them to. It's staring to have an "extremist" vibe coming through on anyone who doesn't agree with the Gay & Lesbian lifestyle! WTH? Go live your life and stop beating ppl into acceptance, relax and let people come around instead of forcing it on them! Back off!

Manny Pacquiao barely speaks english, so it conceivable that he was misquoted. The media does that anyway. And, let the man have his opinion. We all are entitled one. WHo cares if he is against gay marriages or relationships. Not a big deal. Doesn't mean he personally is going to stop them from happening. The extreme left in this country is very elitist and as scarry as the extreme right.

Google Trends keeps track of on-line searches (keywords) and "gay porn" is the most frequently searched in the Philippines on a global scale! No joke...they're No. one. The second point is the current president of the Philippines is as gay as Will Smith.

So now that tmz knows will they try to take him down like Perez does with celebs? Get over it! People have a right to an ANTI gay opinion. Doesn't mean anti gay people go beating the **** out of every gay person they come across.

I'm pro equality and pro-gay. Gay people have a right to live their lives as they wish. Just like I wish to live my life in my own way. We should not judge others or be judged but I also believe that everyone has a right to their own opinon. It's an opinion. It might be misguided or not based on fact but it is their opionion. Live and let live I say.

Unfair on Manny's side since he never mentioned anything about that verse. That stupid columnist did.

The reporter twisted his words that made it sound worse, but why is it that someone can't have an opinion about gays without being labled a gay hater? I have gay friends, and if they want to marry, so be it. That should be their choice. Everyone has an opinion. Manny said he was against it and gets bashed. Obama says he's for it and gets bashed. I suppose freedom of speech is out the window now seeings as we might as well just keep our opinions to ourselves. How did our freedoms ever get to this point? Next thing you know we will be told what religion we can preach about. What we can read. What we can write. If we all do the same there shouldn't be any reason to argue. Now won't that be fun? Maybe not in our lifetime, but in the future, that is where we are heading. Good luck to our grandchildren.

Yes

Obama is a product of polygamy as his father was a polygamist. Romney's grandfather went to Mexico so that he could see his wives and children. The federal government was requiring polygamists to only see one wife and the children from that union and abandoning the rest. You might want to actually KNOW what you are writing about before spouting off your disinformation.
FYI polygamy IS traditional/biblical marriage and monogamy is a modern invention. I am blissfully agnostic.
Romney could have legally opposed gay marriage in Massachusetts, but didn't. He allowed it to stand unopposed. His actions are the reason I will support him in this election. While Obama simply spouted the same words that Dick Cheney said YEARS ago. Simply google "Dick Cheney" and "gay marriage" and watch the video of Cheney yourself to verify.

Its against the law of something that's not actually there? That we have no proof of? Oh dear, let's not upset the great pumpkin as well! The fact that people use "god" for saying they don't like gay marriage is comparable to saying you blame doorknobs for global warming.

I'm not atheist, oh no. But we shouldn't believe something just because someone wrote a book about it.. Lets be educated people

I'm not against gay people, but Manny and others are entitled to their beliefs.
I'm hetero, straight, and always will be. It's impossible for me to "choose" to be attracted to men.
If gay is a choice then I could choose it. I can't choose it, so it's not a choice.
Same goes for sauerkraut, I could never, ever "choose" to like it. Yuck!
But to each his own, agree with homosexuality or don't, your right to believe either way.
