Bono

Facebook WON'T Make

Me World's Richest Rocker

5/18/2012 10:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

051812_bono_washington_times_launchLooks like Paul McCartney's title as world's richest entertainer is safe ... 'cause Bono says his stake in Facebook will NOT push him into the number one spot.

Bono was in D.C. this morning to attend a fundraiser for President Obama ... when a Washington Times photog asked about reports that the U2 frontman's $90 million investment into Mark Zuckerberg's social network will be worth $1.5 billion by the end of the day ... making him the richest rocker on Earth.

FYI -- It's been widely reported that Bono's investment company, Elevation Partners, bought up 2.3% of the company in 2009.

But Bono didn't appear too stoked about it ... in fact, he cast doubt on the entire story.

That ... or maybe he's just trying to be modest.

The video first appeared on The Washington Times.

He's not comfortable with that label given his work on HIV/AIDS.

Depends if it was all his money or if he was just one of several partners. Also, he'll have a big tax bill from it at some point. Still, he did pretty good.

Bono covered up for Steve Jobs not giving a PENNY to charity saying "he would." Well, he has been dead since October, and NOTHING has changed, not a cent has been given to charity by his wife.

Michael Jackson´s 50% share in Sony/ATV, the second largest music publisher on market, is valued at 1.5-2 billion dollars, so... is this irrelevant?

Technically, it will make $1.5 billion for Elevation Partners.
But what he should do is be honest, admit it, and say he immediately pledges $500 million to feed starving children in Africa. Time to put his money where his mouth has been. If he hedges or makes up an excuse, he's full of S#!T.

He is down-playing it because he knows with his fake charity work, people would expect him to make a big donation, which he doesn't want to do, because most of his work is phony, just like Sean Penn's. All for the cameras Ladies and Gentleman. He spends 360... days of the year lying on a yacht in the Mediterranean with some prostitutes, spends days flying around the world on private jets, to go to 4-star hotels and 5-star Michelin restaurants to give a speech about wasteful the world is and how we should be doing more for poor people. Then back to his private jet and yacht.
