Daz Dillinger

Makes It Rain ...

ON HOMELESS PEOPLE

6/25/2012 2:50 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

Daz Dillinger making it rain.
Rap legend Daz Dillinger is taking the phrase "making it rain" out of the strip club ... and into the streets -- showering HOMELESS PEOPLE with airborne singles last week ... instead of scantily-clad women ... and TMZ has footage of the money mayhem.

The video was shot for a charity called MakeItRain.TV -- founded by radio host Tattoo from 93.5 KDAY -- and last Friday, Daz, Tattoo and their entourage hit Venice Beach ... where they unloaded $6,000 in singles on the boardwalk.

The cash stunt attracted hordes of money-hungry people, scrambling to pick up as much green as possible. Shockingly, no one was hurt.

In the video, Tattoo (the guy in the cap) approaches several homeless people and buries them in cash. His intentions are clearly good, but it's a little uncomfortable to watch -- because the act of throwing money at people could be construed as humiliating.

So we gotta ask ...

Aww, someone who truly cares about his fellow human beings...NOT! What a disrespectful way to treat people for little bit of self-promotion.

That's messed up. If you really want to help the homeless, go donate to a shelter, feed a thousand people for 6 days. This was done to garner attention for the "artist" and not to help the homeless. He should have been arrested for inciting a riot, that would have gotten him some attention.

He should just donate the money to the Rodney King funeral fund. God knows they need to find a way to pay for that $22,000 funeral expense.

I wonder if your family went homeless, and then some random guys/girls with $1's throw them at you, and your family with a camera on, laughing, and parading around like hyena saying "make it rain" make you feel? I know It would make me feel more like crap, than anything else.

This wasn't to help anyone out, but to just bring promotion to whatever crappy site they're promoting. So yeah, this is messed up.

Uninformed effort that ended up as a photo opp probably for a new song. Def a prime ego trip. And yes, it is degrading to have anything tossed at you like a dog so you can fetch it. A quiet effort without the posse and cameras would have been more sincere.

i think handing it out discretly WITHOUT cameras and all the show would have been much classier...but no really has ever accused rappers of being classy have they.

The guy's in a wheel chair. How's he going to bend down to pick up the cash before it blows away or someone else gets it?????

The intention is good. But they went about it all wrong. These are people. They deserve respect. If you want to give them money then just hand it to them. Don't throw it at them.
