Jake 'Raging Bull' LaMotta

Sued Over Sequel Flick --

It's a Cheap Knockoff!!!

Boxing legend Jake "Raging Bull" LaMotta -- played by Robert DeNiro in the famous movie of the same name -- is being sued by MGM Studios because Jake green-lit a crappy sequel without its permission.

MGM claims it snagged the rights to produce a movie based on a book LaMotta co-wrote in 1986 -- "Raging Bull 2" -- as a sequel to the 1980 hit movie. MGM claims the deal was ... Jake could take the project somewhere else ONLY if MGM passed.

But according to the lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court -- LaMotta went behind MGM's back and shot a "low-budget B movie" that is so bad, it threatens the "integrity and value" of the original.

MGM wants a judge to block the release of the new flick. It's also asking for unspecified damages.

Ok I understand blocking the release of a crappy sequel but I hope they're not going after him for damages he's 90 freakin years old and besides he probably doesn't have any money anyway.

So MGM wants to own Jake's life, eh? Well. Even though it's likely a terrible movie...my hope is Jake scores a KO against MGM - considering all the lawsuits over accounting, who's to say MGM wouldn't rip off Jake at box office and rental receipt?

Can't really threaten the integrity and value of the original movie with a sequel, people still love and rent Dumb and Dumber even though most don't like the sequel, seems kinda desperate for MGM.

MGM HAS CREATED IT'S OWN PR NIGHTMARE. SEE, WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN IS MGM WILL LOOK LIKE THE TOUGH SLEEZE BALL THAT IT IS BACKING A 90YR OLD MAN INTO THE CORNER. THEN JAKE IS GONNA DIE DURING THE COURSE OF THE LAWSUIT. THE FAMILY WILL SAY IT'S BECAUSE OF THE ALL STRESS THE LAWSUIT HAS CAUSED AND HIS HEART COULDNT TAKE IT ANYMORE. THEN THE PUBLIC BACKLASH AGAINST MGM WILL OCCUR AND NO ONE WANTS TO SEE ANY PUKEY FILMS ITS MADE PAST OR PRESENT. MGM WILL FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY YET AGAIN (FIRST TIME WAS 2010) BECAUSE NO ONE REALLY F*CKIN CARED IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE END. #TRUTH!!

"LaMotta went behind MGM's back and shot a "low-budget B movie" that is so bad, it threatens the "integrity and value" of the original." EVERY MOWOOD ESEQUEL fits that description.. every one made today. They can't come up with anything original so they raid the old and bastardize it... Karate Kid, perfect example.

Why would he make a low budget version before asking MGM if they want to make a big budget one? It doesn't make sense, so I think there is a side of the story we aren't getting here.
