Sylvester Stallone

I'm Grief-Stricken

7/16/2012 5:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Sylvester Stallone tells TMZ he is devastated by the death of his son Sage Stallone and wants "the speculation and questionable reporting" to stop.

Stallone -- who gave us this picture of him with Sage taken in 1991 by famed photog Bruce Weber -- says, "When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son's memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha."

Sly goes on to say, "This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives," adding, "Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace."

I feel his pain, but that's a weird picture. He should have left it in the box in the closet. There must have been a more "natural" family photo of them smiling and having a good time. RIP Sage... Keep up the good work TMZ!

I am posting this again from someone closley tied to Sage. Let's all hug our kids tight!

To me this is sickening , pure spin and damage control on Slys part posting a picture about the last time they actually spent any real time together around the making of Rocky 5 . Sage was in hurt & pain and constantly talked about being not welcome into his dads "new family " Sage and his brother who you NEVER hear or read about were discarded like trash . I saw & heard it first hand fom Sage's mouth . I have no doubt about his grief but SS owes everyone the truth and he won't heal IMO until he owns up to the father he was or should I say wasn't . Sage told me his father was ashamed of him being overweight and an embarassment to him and some name calling that a father should never say . Some fatherly love huh ?
I am numb and heartbroken over Sages' passing and below is a re-post of my earlier comment . I felt compelled to state real facts after so much non-sense and conjecture and speculation posted here . People should know the truth . Sage was a wonderful guy who sadly had an addiction to pain pills . It can be argued where that pain started but it came from not being loved by his father whom Sage did love and admire but that love and admiration was not reciprocated . XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I personally knew Sage for very well for about 10 years being his next door neighbor back in 2002 (not his current house ) and 99% of whats posted hereabout him couldn't be further from the truth .

Sage was not close to his father at all and alienated after Sly divorced his mom . His new family became all that mattered according to Sage .

Sage was fighting his demons as long as I knew him ( vicodin / norco ) and wouldn't let anyone help him because it was not out of control etc . denial etc .

Sage was the nicest kindest person you can imagine .
Sage was married a few years ago and had the marriage anulled a short time later .
Sage had very few friends and was lonely guy and a loner with the exception of a few people in the ent. biz .

This is a tragedy that had the writing on the wall for well over 10 years.
ANYONE around him knew of his demons except his family . None of his friends that I knew encouraged or enabled this behavior.
If his dad bothered to give Sage any love or thought into his life this would have never happened .
Sage told me he was raised by maids , nannies , and gardeners as his dad was never there always away making movies . This made him forever sad .
Im sure his dad is devistated but when it was time to be there for him and be a father its the sad truth he was never there .
I will miss my friend dearly and hope that other celebs think about their children first & career second .

Certainly never been moved by Mr. Stallone's acting in action movies, but this statement choked me up. Very loving, fatherly and sincere. RIP Sage and I hope your family gets some peace while they grieve.

Tua dor é indescritível. É evidente pelas fotos o amor de pai e de filho que unia voces (e ainda une!). Esta é uma luta real, a maior que voce já teve na vida. Não desista, olhe bem nos olhos do adversário e bata forte ! Força, força!!

Fair enough, I say. TMZ, please listen this time. Do the right thing here. I won't be looking at any more articles about negative things involving Sage from now on. His father asked nicely. I know it seems silly to suddenly draw a line here but it just feels wrong to continue speculating about this.
I always skip over any article involving some sort of humiliation for someone that TMZ hasn't featured before. It feels wrong to only show them when something embarrassing and personal happens, even though they were never a big enough star to make TMZ before.

It's something I only recently started thinking about.

Our neighbors lost their adult daughter in a car accident few years ago.
They're great people, still great parents to the rest of their adult children.
But when I'm talking to the dad and the subject comes up, he feels guilty for small mistakes he made with his daughter, mistakes that aren't even a big deal, like being too strict etc.
But to him the mistakes are huge, because his daughter's gone, and he can't get past it.
That's how parents feel when their son or daughter dies, they feel guilty for the smallest mistakes.
Sly and Sasha are human, so they're going through their own similar emotions.
They need to be able to mourn, go through the grieving, and deal with their own emotions.
Without thoughtless, stupid people standing on the sidelines pointing fingers and calling them bad parents.

Fifty Shades of WTF

The loss of a child is something no parent should ever have to endure. I hope this family can find peace. My heartfelt condolences on this very very sad event.

I also have lost a son who was 26 when he fell asleep at the wheel coming home from work. So I know what he is going through. It is something I hope none of you ever ever ever have to go through. My heart goes out to both of Sages parents.

When I was 12 yrs old I watched my mother experience the pain of losing a child. It was agonizing- the pain consumed the air thickly - suffocating. May the Stallone family have privacy and respect -- it is their right, not ours. Prayers to the family.
