Sheryl Crow

By Federal Agents

9/1/2012 5:12 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

If federal agents were looking for a smoking gun in the Lance Armstrong doping scandal ... they were hoping it might be Sheryl Crow -- this according to a new report.

The country-singer was called in by federal agents in late 2011 and questioned about any knowledge she might have regarding accusations that Armstrong was using illegal substances ... this according to The New York Daily News.

The move to question Crow makes sense ... she dated Armstrong from 2003 to 2006 (he won 2 Tour de France titles in that time span) -- and spent lots of time with him in Europe, traveling on private jets and in other locations where, according to the report, Armstrong allegedly participated in doping programs.

It's unclear what information Crow gave during her interview ... both the Feds and her attorney declined to comment.

As you know -- the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency recently stripped Armstrong of his 7 Tour de France Titles in late August and banned him from the sport of cycling ... after he dropped his case to fight back against doping allegations.

Lance is innocent but condemned and stripped of rewards he worked for and earned.
Casey Anthony is guilty but walks free and is allowed to get pregnant and give birth again.
Casey partied and danced and laughed while she claimed her daughter was kidnapped and missing.
Only a matter of time before she has and kills another kid.
And Lance Armstrong is a threat to who?
To put it mildly, the human race is really f-cked up.

You know this is a big joke!! I'm laughing out loud and crying at the same time. Armstrong tested clean and clear what (500 different times) during the last three years. The US Anti-Doping Agency is supose to be a non-profit agency, but guess what. It's government funded. Check it out. They get federal funding. This agency is pissed because the lost so bad to Roger Clemmons case. This agency is trying to save face. Just another reason I am not voting for Obama. The Feds over-seeing our greatest sports figures.

BIGGER QUESTION - He's retired, so what business is it of the feds now? Let's say they do find a smoking gun and show he did it...then what? do the feds get a cookie or something; if he has to return some prize money, do the feds have to refund the taxes he paid on it?

What this really means is: If you do not say Lance Armstrong used drugs when he won the tour de france, even if he didn't use drugs, we will throw your ass in prison for months and years.

Has anyone else noted that the USADA isn't a government agency? It's a group of people in the private sector just looking to get their name in the papers and why not go after Lance Armstrong? In case no one has noticed, his donations to LiveStrong are up an incredible amount since this came about.

How many tax dollars have been spent on this witch hunt? They have spent years investigating him and the only thing they seem to have is a hear say statement. Now the guy has thrown in the towel and they are still investigating. Talk about harrassment....

Why was Sheryl Crow referred to as a country singer? I always thought she was a pop music artist
