'Modern Family' Star

ESCORTED OUT

of L.A. Dodgers Game

9/17/2012 3:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0916_stonestreet_tmz_video"Modern Family" star Eric Stonestreet was escorted out of his seat at last night's Los Angeles Dodgers game after he allegedly got into a verbal altercation with a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

According to a witness, Stonestreet said something to the Cardinals fan after the guy heckled a Dodgers player. The two exchanged words, but we're told it never escalated to the point where either threatened the other in any way.

In the video, you can see Stonestreet and the fan exchanging words before security eventually came over and asked Stonestreet to leave. The guy who Stonestreet appeared to be arguing with was asked to leave as well.

Stonestreet was later seen in the hallway, talking to security staff.

Calls to Stonestreet's rep were not returned. A rep for the Dodgers tells TMZ that Stonestreet was not ejected from the stadium and, after speaking to security, was allowed to return to his seat.

FYI -- The Dodgers won the game in dramatic fashion, scoring two runs in the bottom of the 9th (with 2 outs) to beat the Cards.

Go Blue.

After our story went up, Stonestreet tweeted his version of events, saying, "i did NOT get kicked out of the Dodgers game last night. did i get escorted to the top of the stairs by security? yes. yes i sure did." He also spoke to our cameras on Sunday night (see below).

Have heard that the St. Louis Cardinals are great baseball fans, very knowledgeable on the game and extremely loyal to their Cardinals. Love the history of the Cardinals/Cubs rivalry. The Dodgers are making the Cardinals a bit nervous and they are making a serious run now. Have to say though when visiting another stadium you may need to curb your heckling especially in California, the media has reported on several violent attacks on individuals there to see the visiting teams. Must admit it has kept us from seeing sporting events in California.

Stonestreets conversation with security then went like this: "Don't you know who I am? I am very famous! I'm a tv star, you can't kick me out!!!!"

If he'd been sitting in the bleachers at Fenway Park, by-standers would have cheered the altercation, not knowing what it was about. This would be followed by a fight maybe including the people that started it but probably not. Then security would rush to the scene which would then make the bleacher creatures join forces against security who would likely end up with bruises and probably significant bleeding. From the head. Someone, usually the drunkest guy in the brawl who likely had nothing to do with the original fight, would be escorted away by backup security, possibly in handcuffs. He's be smiling and his friends would cheer. Everyone else would grumble a bit, order more beer and wish the fight had gone on longer. It's part of the fun.

After the Colorado massacre, no one should accept any bull**** from anyone in public or crowded places. IMO security did the right thing: both of them had to take their crappy attitudes outside the stadium.

I was curious to see if they had kicked Al Bundy out of the stadium. That mob would start a riot. I would be leading the way. Can I get a whoa Bundy?

Yo Harvey, Since they're worried about violence why not report about the SD County Sheriff who flunked two psych exams, (history of violence) who was later hired, and shot his wife in the face. Turns out his deputy buddies delayed the ambulance, (pepper spraying her dad) until she died. It's right H E R E and not a single member of SD media reported it. Nope. Not one.
