Bike Helmet Company

DROPS Lance Armstrong

The bike helmet company that crafted Lance Armstrong's $15,000 helmet for the 2010 Tour de France -- and launched a full line of Lance Armstrong helmets -- has DROPPED the disgraced cyclist in the wake of the doping scandal, TMZ has learned.

A rep for Giro Helmets tells TMZ, "We will not be continuing our sponsorship of Lance Armstrong moving forward. We continue to support the cancer community through our association with LIVESTRONG."

Giro's not the first company to boot Armstrong -- Nike announced it would no longer be sponsoring him either, claiming Armstrong "misled" the company for more than a decade.

FYI -- the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a report last week, detailing Armstrong's direct involvement in what it called "the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen."

Armstrong -- who's been banned from pro cycling for life -- still denies the doping allegations.

There is no evidence aginst the man, he's never tested positive. Hence,I still believe what science proved, that he's clean, over what people who did test positive say.

In the immortal words of Dave Stoller from the movie Breaking Away, "Everybody cheats. I just didn't know."

wow

Tiger didn't cheat on the sport that made him. Cheating on your wife doesn't help you win. There is a direct correlation between taking enhancement drugs and winning in your sport. Big difference.

who dat

In the era of camera phones and video devices there is absolutely no proof. Lance was tested many times. Including surprise visits in the middle of the night. There is absolutely no medical testing data that has indicated he was cheating. Regardless what ex teammates say, it's Innocent until proven guilty.

Why, why, why does the U.S. anti-doping organization go after the athletes, they (the athletes) dont manufacture these drugs?

Any who, any of you couch potato blog jockeys want to ride ~ 120 mile a day for 30 days straight with out a drug or two and compete with others who are all taking a the same or a variation of an "enhancing" drug, be my guest.

Dont be so quick to judge, cycling is a super tough sport. Lance Armstrong trained hard to get the results he had. You dont win several Tours on drugs alone.

The tragic is, that all these pro cyclist are in fact worldclass athletes. If they ALL would not dope, their sport would be attractive and challanging as well.

But doping distorts the competition, because those win who know how to dope best and not those, who have the best genetics or who are really the best athelets. No doubt, that Armstrong is the biggest cheater in the history of any sport. They should make an example with this bastard.
