Ariel Winter

Removed from Home

After Parental Abuse Allegations

EXCLUSIVE

Ariel Winter, the 14-year-old actress who plays Alex Dunphy on "Modern Family," has been removed from her home by a judge in the wake of serious allegations of physical and emotional abuse by her mother ... court sources tell TMZ.

There's a report Ariel is seeking legal emancipation from her mom so she can be with her boyfriend, but that report is false.

Court sources tell us ... on October 3rd, after a guardianship hearing, a judge determined the allegations that Ariel was being physically and emotionally abused by her mother Chrystal Workman were serious enough that the judge placed Ariel in a temporary guardianship with her older sister Shanelle Gray. Our sources tell us ... mama Chrystal was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Ariel.

Ironically, we've learned Shanelle suffered the same alleged abuse as Ariel.  Nearly two decades ago, the Department of Children and Family Services removed her from Chrystal's home based on similar abuse allegations. Law enforcement sources tell us ... D.C.F.S. placed Shanelle in foster care for more than 2 years. She never went back to her mother.

According to court records, the judge has set another hearing for November 20.

That's so sad......She seems like an upbeat girl. Hope this doesn't affect her too much. If its money related, why do these parents rob their kids blind, just like the Dallas Cowboy rookie, whose mom stole a million from him and was still harassing him for money. He had to get a restraining order or something.

Inconceivable!

Amazing - the same allegations were made against Octomom, yet there are 14 kids still under her vodka & Xanax filled care. What's going on in the state of CA??

Wow ...

Best wishes to her, child abuse is such a tragedy. Thankfully she has an older sister who can help. Perhaps the courts will oversee the finances, to ensure no one is taking advantage of this young lady. Again, best wishes. Hold your head high!

Good that it's being taken care of.
And good that it's getting media coverage, mothers who abuse their daughters.
While feminist-Hollywood and TV use most of their scripts to blame men, fathers for abuse and neglect, they completely ignore the *fact* that it's very often the mothers who abuse.
Blaming men and ignoring abusive women is perpetuated by feminist bureaucrats and groups who are funded by taxpayers and want to keep that funding coming in for their own paychecks.
Meanwhile the US Dept Health and Human Services Child Maltreatment reports show us that almost 80% of child murders in the home are committed by *women*, while almost 70% of child abuse is committed by women.
When feminist groups, leaders, actresses and script-writers only highlight men but ignore abusive women, they're doing a tremendous *injustice* to girls who are abused by their mothers....by ignoring them, invalidating them, shoving them in a corner...for the sake of protecting women's reputations as "the kinder compassionate gender"
As always, feminism doesn't help girls and women...it hurts them.

"Ironically"? No, it's not ironic that another sibling was subjected to the same abuse by the same parent. That is the opposite of ironic. It is expected and not surprising at all.

Why do these families get their kids on tv automatically think that they have it made? Between Dina, Kris, and now Crystal; no wonder these kids grow up spoiled and damaged. Thank goodness someone stepped in and took her out of that environment before it was too late. The same should have been done to Lilo, Kardashian sisters and so on.

Poor girl! Hope she continues to live with her sister and has plenty of people around her for support. How awful for parents to behave that way with their children.
