Lindsay Lohan

New Half-Sister

Is News to Me

11/16/2012 7:05 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

BRAVO! Lindsay Lohan's such a brilliant actress ... she nearly convinced the world today that she didn't know about her newly-announced 17-year-old half-sister -- claiming, "I don't pay attention to any of that."

Of course, the news was everywhere yesterday after TMZ broke the story -- Lindsay's dad Michael Lohan took a paternity test for a 17-year-old girl named Ashley ... and the results came back positive.

But today on "Good Morning America" -- where Lindsay was trying to promote her new movie "Liz & Dick" -- she had the audacity to say, "I didn't even hear that."

And we weren't born yesterday ... just like Lindsay's previously-fatherless sister.

'Liz & Dick' review: Lindsay Lohan, Grant Bowler fail to bring sparkle to Elizabeth Taylor love story

2 Stars

Elizabeth Taylor loved diamonds. This new movie about her life feels more like rhinestones.
"Liz & Dick" stars Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler as Taylor and Richard Burton, careening through one of Hollywood's most famous love stories for two tempestuous decades.

They married and divorced twice while lighting up the tabloid skies with their seething passion and brutal battles.

The movie debuts Nov. 25 on Lifetime.

Taylor and Burton were old-school movie stars whose private lives were never even close to private. Every melodramatic turn felt as if it had been scripted for a golden-age movie palace.

And for that reason, maybe no re-enactment of their lives could replicate the scale on which those lives played out.

"Liz & Dick" tries. It follows the story faithfully, from the fire that sparked on the set of the movie "Cleopatra" to the final ruins.

But it all feels smaller here, like another story about two driven people whose passions and neuroses run so deep they can live neither with nor without each other.

It's tempting to say the movie's big problem is that Lohan is no Liz Taylor. And she isn't - though that's not entirely her fault. There aren't all that many actresses, or women, who can stop a room simply by walking into it.

Liz Taylor in her prime could do that. She could make men melt. Lindsay Lohan's Taylor does not.
Grant Bowler comes closer to Burton's rough, rugged charm and rich voice - a voice born to play Shakespeare, yet too often reduced to disposable junk because the paychecks supported the life to which he and Taylor had become accustomed.

What "Liz & Dick" may lack most is a sense of the world in which Taylor and Burton lived.

The people around them like Sybil, the wife that Burton dumped when he tumbled for Liz, are represented reasonably well.

What we don't get is a sense of the larger universe that had so much to do with shaping Liz's and Dick's world.

Like a handful of elite movie stars before them - think Marilyn Monroe - Taylor and Burton achieved almost unthinkable fame at the cost of anything resembling normal lives.

They had to move to a boat in the middle of the ocean to avoid being followed everywhere. Combine those logistics with the things that fame and fortune can do to performers, and it's no wonder these two came together so fiercely and fell apart so badly.

It's a story of triumph with a strong vein of tragedy, and in the larger picture, "Liz & Dick" never captures that scope.

Nor, down at the detail level, does the script do neither Lohan or Bowler any favors.

Taylor has lines like "End of story!" that sound suspiciously 21st century.

At another point she tells Burton they should go to the pool and he replies, "I don't need a pool. I've got a whole ocean in you."

"Liz & Dick," in the end, feels closer to a puddle.

@gossip...true. Granted there is usually mixed reviews but nothing really good. The best Lohan got was adequate and that was being kind.

Just because your all made up doesn't mean you can play the part. Don't forget Lohan in her words faught for this part and would have even done if for free. Yeah, right.

Was LiLo in some kind of celebrity boxing match lately? Her face looks like it is all beat to hell - I mean, even worse than normal...

As she gets older, she's getting uglier.

Lohan is a friggin moron. She trashed her own career 10 years ago and it's not coming back. Even with the little work she did get from people helping her out and cutting her a break, giving her a chance, she burned and kicked in the teeth.

Her rotten reputation no talent and track record says it all. And it's all her own fault. She knows it.

So let her go on whatever talk shows she can and lie that's nothing new. She really must like making a complete fool of herself.

This is what the Denver Post has to say (yeah, I know, kind of small potatoes)
No matter what you think of the actors, the great period stylings, not to mention Cleopatra-period costumes, make this jewel-encrusted, ****tail-soaked, often tragic saga a rip-roaring good time.

"I can't take a review seriously when they write 'rip roaring good time'."

@grandma....People will probally tune in just to watch her bomb. That's good for Lifetime but won't do a thing for Lohan. Just more reasons not to hire her.

Not to worry Lohan will spin this around like she tried to do with SNL because of her they got their best ratings. She thinks people will hire her because of that. I don't think so. Just look at the hell she put Lifetime through. The bulk of the reviews so far are not good.

Make up, costumes and sets doesn't make up for rotten acting. Can be all made up doesn't mean she can play the part. Certinly looks like she can't.

well as one reviewer put it its only Lifetime and you know you have fallen when you have to be in a movie on Lifetime.

No one's running to hire her you read and see things regarding her in a good light from overseas or unheard of publishers. Someone did interview her a few days ago but it was so up her butt the person who wrote it must be still getting rid of the stains on her nose. If I find the link to it I will post it here.

Lohan is still to look relevant. Still not working, just the opposite.

Showing up on Jimmy Fallon un-invited doesn't do her any good either. Doesn't make her look like a good sport just makes her look desperate.

No one really cares about the movie espically with the reviews so far. How many talk shows can she go on. Just look at GMA. Leno is a joke. Lohan simply can't be bothered. These jokes of promos take away from her drinking and drugging. We can't have that.
