Nurse Suicide

Report: Hospital Criticism

May Have Triggered Suicide

The nurse in the Kate Middleton hoax may have hanged herself in part because the hospital came down on her hard ... this according to a new report.

The Daily Mail claims to have a source connected to the nurse's family, who says in one of the suicide notes the woman, Jacintha Saldanha, is critical of the hospital for the treatment she received.  The story does not flesh out whether the treatment is connected to the hoax, but it appears to be the case, given one of the other suicide notes which reportedly describes how she tried to cope with the fallout due to the prank call.

So the question ... did hospital management come down on the nurse hard?  A hospital spokesperson claims hospital management was supportive, but they are not privy to what she wrote in the notes.

As for the third note, the report claims the nurse laid out plans for her funeral.

This Hoax story is still a cover up by either the Hospital or the Royal Family, because all this woman did was transfer a call she did nothing wrong, Nobody even knew who she was except for the hospital, Still Nobody knows the name of the nurse who was the one that actually gave out private information, and the Hospital is Protecting Her. There is so much more to this story, It still is not clear it was a suicide. If The Royal Family had something to do with it Scotland Yard will do everything in its power to cover it up, Plus who leaves 3 suicide notes in different places, a person will always leave one and do what they do.

I am convinced she received a bashing by hospital administrators as a knee jerk reaction to what had happened. Now the hospital says they were supportive, they have said that since the beginning. the hospital lies.

So it wasn't the DJs fault. AND guess what - it wasn't the hospital's fault for criticizing the nurse. How many times do we have to disambiguate personal responsibility before we settle on blaming the one person who actually did the killing?

So it was the hospital that harassed this mentally unstable woman into suicide...I can believe that...Radio shows do pranks everyday...I listen to it everyday on my way to work...its funny....and we know that England protects this family...Hell the royals have been infidels, murderers, cheats, liars, for most of Englands History....So they are fair game like everyone else who wants to live a Public Life......Whoever at the hospital needs to stand up and take their blame for this Unstable womans death...but then again she did take her own life...she killed herself!

If she hadn't killed herself people would still be criticizing her for being unprofessional and foolish for patching through the call. They'd be talking about patients' rights to privacy and I'm sure some sort of punishment. She would be embarrassed and ashamed and she felt that she couldn't live through it.

So not surprised that the hospital may not have been as 'supportive' as reported. I said this in comments a few days ago-what she did would in the us be considered breaking HIPAA laws. I don't know English law, but the hospital would be facing a large fine here. As a nurse, I can tell you, she would have been terminated here. Good luck trying to find a job when you have been fired for that. Again, speaking of us laws, in states where license information is online, that info would appear with your license info.

Face it this are much bigger problems here. It is pretty well known in the UK that "non-white" nurses are treated as second and third class citizens.
Considering that this woman was of Indian decent, it is even compounded more by the fact that many feel, due to some Imperialist affectations, that "Indian Brits are some sort of sub human.

I find it quite curious that these notes were IMMEDIATELY found, they had a litany of evidence of why she did it and yet the British Police allowed the story of and theory of blaming the DJ's to run so long.

Simply put the police helped coverup a crime, the DJ's had no real idea that this would happen, but certainly Mrs. Saldanha peers who harrased her relentlessly and had been for years could have seen this coming.
The Brits put the blame on some DJ's (from Austrailia a former prison colony of the UK) so that fits fine too.
It isn't the racist and abusive staff she worked with and the lack of the hospitals administration to do anything that mattered, it was some DJ's whom she spoke with for 15 seconds that drove her to suicide.

What genius writer at TMZ posed this question?

"Did hospital management come down on the nurse hard?

It's painfully obvious to the rest of us that they did, she took her own life didn't she?

I have no doubt that the hospital was anything BUT supportive to this nurse and I would suggest that her coworkers were probably also less than supportive.

Can we stop blaming the DJs now? And, even the hospital staff? This was a grown woman we are talking about. By that age, normal adults have the coping skills to deal with a prank or being reprimanded. As a mother of two, I'm sure this woman has been through more things in life and those kids should have been enough to give her the strength she needed to not be selfish. It's clear that this woman suffered from mental problems and/or depression and had other issues, normal people don't commit suicide nonetheless injure their wrists and hang themselves. The media is turning this into a circus and people are looking for someone to blame. These were the actions of a lone individual who made a selfish act, which her children will pay dearly for.

Just Saying

The DJ's should be given a formal apology for playing an innocent prank. There was no bullying on their part, yet they have been the scapegoats. The family accepting money is just disgusting. It should to to an anti bullying program for hospital staff. The family not speaking out in defense of the djs speaks volumes.
