Drake

Don't Blame Me for

Your Club's CRAPPY Rep!

12/23/2012 8:40 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1221_drake_getty_articleJust because Drake was present during a bloody nightclub brawl in NYC ... does NOT mean he should be blamed for the backlash of bad press directed at the club next door ... this according to new legal docs.

As TMZ previously reported ... Drake was sued by Entertainment Enterprises for $16 million. EE claimed its rep took a HUGE dive after that crazy fight (which also involved Chris Brown) at W.i.P nightclub back in June.

FYI -- EE does NOT own W.i.P, but has a HUGE financial stake in another nightclub (called Greenhouse) located in the same building ... and says it lost millions due to the bad press.

Now Drake is firing back  ... arguing he CAN'T be held responsible for how the media portrayed either club in the news -- and claims Greenhouse's rep was in the toilet looooooong before he set foot through the door.

Specifically, the rapper says the NY Times has described the club as having "a history of violence and other problems."

Not only that, he says the club was almost shut down back in 2011 by the NYPD ... and had its liquor license previously suspended due to "a string of violent incidents."

Drake is asking a judge to dismiss the case.

The club sucks and had a bad reputation before he ever went there, yet in a celebrity world where image is everything, he happened to go to THAT club. Why didnt he just go to another club that night. Makes sense..

I'm with Drake on this one. It sounds to me that this nightclub has had it's problems before and they are using Drake as an easy scape goat. Who they need to sue is the Managers or whoever was left in charge that night.

So...what's the problem? Isn't the patronage of low class former gangbangers turned rap "stars" possible starting a fight the big draw for these places? I believe so, since it seems to be the preferred sport of silverbacks to start throwing chairs and "Rootie-Tootie-Fresh-and-Fruitie" specials at each other in their local WaffleHuts. Maybe this other club is only for gay white cowboys?

There should be a class action lawsuit against Drake, for being offensively ugly. It's causing mental anguish to the public. hehe... but seriously, if the club was so lame like he says, his over inflated ego having self who cares what everyone thinks and will do ANYTHING to try to be cool would not have attended. Sue away.

Drake makes sense. In terms of a brawl between two celebrities, that would make a club's revenue increase (at least I would think so) as more people want to go and check out the place that the infamous brawl happened. Do they really think that people were saying "oh i don't want to go there because of that fight Drake and CB had." It doesn't even sound right. The club probably had monetary issues prior to this and is using it as an excuse to get money just like nearly everybody does in today's society.
