Nike CEO

We're NOT Calling It Quits

On Lance Armstrong

Nike
might reunite with Lance Armstrong after all ... despite terminating its contract with the disgraced cyclist last year -- so says the Nike CEO Phil Knight

Phil was out in DC yesterday when we asked if Lance and Nike might patch things up after the cyclist admitted to using PEDs -- and Phil responded, "Never say never."

You'll recall, Nike dropped Lance back in October, saying, "Due to the seemingly insurmountable evidence that Lance Armstrong participated in doping and misled Nike for more than a decade, it is with great sadness that we have terminated our contract with him."

As for whether Phil plans to watch Oprah's interview with Lance ... you get three guesses.

YEA, BUT IF DOPING OCCURS ACROSS MOST CONTESTANTS IN CYCLING THAN ARMSTRONG WAS ON A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD --- AND STILL WON. #TRUTH!!

Maybe Armstrong can get contracts with some of the drug companies? This drug worked for me although I did get cancer.

Not until they find out if he can turn them a profit via his "sorry I lied" phase...

Nike has zero to lose by uniting with Armstrong. The publicity surrounding the scandal has died down. Even when the scandal was fresh, the majority of people didn't care. Do you really think that people are going to stop buying Nike products because of this Lance Armstrong scandal? Absolutely not.

Armstrong is done and only a company that wants to dirty it's name would even think of hiring him.

Nike hung in there with that perv Tiger Woods and he can't even golf anymore. If they think they can make a dime off Armstrong, they will get right back on that bike with him--or whatever he decides to compete at. Oh I've got it!! Lance could be the announcer/crazed cheerleader yelling at Chinese or Indonesian kids to produce Nikes products quicker. Competitive Child Labor hosted by Lance Armstrong. It's a hit in Asian markets.

darn it / I so wanted to believe that Lance was a great athlete, and he didn't lie time and time .....and time and time.....and time and time again. So I'm disappointed.
Now, I think he should loose his last nut because of it.

I'd like to see him race without drugs and see how he does. But on the other hand he should be banned for using them. ugh, tough choice.

Sponsorship is never a question about morale. It is a question of money so it makes sense.
