Paula Deen

Going to Pot

6/23/2013 5:43 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

If you're lookin' for Paula Deen's pots and pans, you better jump fast, because it looks like her shelf-life on QVC is about to expire.

Deen -- who appears on the product-hawking network to pitch her cookware -- may lose her platform over the "n-word" revelations.

A rep for the network says they have "concerns [over] the unfortunate Paula Deen situation."  The rep adds, "Please know that QVC does not tolerate discriminatory behavior."

Now this is the weird part, which makes QVC sound -- how do you say in English -- as spineless as deep-fried octopus.  "We are closely monitoring these events and we are reviewing our business relationship with Ms. Deen.  In the meantime, we have no immediate plans to have her appear on QVC."

Translation -- They're waiting to see which way the wind blows.

I want to see TMZ push for the Kardashians to lose all their endorsements and shows. This comment has nothing to do with Paula Deen; I'd just like to see TMZ stop kissing their fat a**es and push this hard to wipe the Kardashians out instead of jacking them off all the time.

Harvey- Stop all this bullying. What do you have against Paula Deen. Your smear campaign against her is almost an obsession.

If the black community are so offended by such words as the "N" word, maybe they should set an example by not using it as a term of endearment amongst themselves. Just a thought.

Gawd I hate these nanny stations, how about allowing the viewers to decide for themselves? Did anyone even read the transcript or did they listen to the witch burning Fox News and TMZ who put words in her mouth?

100% team Paula.

Modern day lynching for poor would have thought she actually called an employee that or that she had a slave wedding...which she hasn't!
How can Donald Trump get away with all of his "birther" comments about Obama and not be called racist? I think being nasty to our president is far worse and Unamerican as well

If blacks were truly offended by that word, they wouldn't use it so freely themselves. It's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned, and all these companies acting like they're so damn horrified? It makes them look like puppets.

I wish every one would leave her alone it's not like she's the first one to ever use that word she made a mistake it's called being a human being I think to fire her was a big mistake on the part of the food network I will miss her

STOP MAKING IT SEEM LIKE SHE ONLY USED THE N WORD. Discuss her LOVE of the slave era. Discuss how in the show, she got weepy, not over hearing that her family chained up blacks and forced them to work, but that her grandfather killed himself. And why did he kill himself? Because the south lost in the Civil War, his spaces were free and he would either have to do the work his damn self or pay them to work. She claimed the slaves or should I say "workers", as she so stupidly referred to them as, loved we family and were treated like family. Hm. Is that why the minute they were freed, they ran for the hills? And didn't stay behind to console your racist grandfather? No. They were not treated like family. She talked in such a way to make it seem like the slaves were in the wrong and at fault for her grandfather's death. She romanticizes the slave era in the weirdest of ways, viewing it as this beautiful time in History when in reality it was the most disgusting. To top it off, she floated around the idea of her brother having a plantation styled wedding, of which he would have nothing but black servants serving the WHITE guests whete they would "tap dance" around like in the Shirley Temple days. Because that's cool, right? The lawsuit she is currently the defendant of states that her restaurants were segregated with blacks working in the back and whites up front, along with this were segregated bathrooms - one for whites and the other for blacks. Then were her comments, "I'm not a racist. I have a black friend", the most overused and transparent explanation as to why someone indeed IS racist. She then went on to say "We can't see you in front of that board" insulting his darker complexion. Paula Deen is a racist, and it goes far beyond her disgusting use of the N-word some odd years ago (which she should have known better than to use. she was damn near 40 for crying out loud). Deen is worse because she is a deluded racist; one that sees no issue with the things that she's said, is currently saying and continues to do. Those excusing her because she was brought up in the south and because "that's how things were back then" are beyond pathetic as well. She was grown when the utilized those racial epithets and I'm sorry but at 39 years of age, you should know that calling hurling around the N word is wrong. And in 2007, you should damn sure know that discussing the idea of a plantation styled wedding is wrong. Deen truly disgusts me as do her supporters.

Racism....Any action, practice, or belief that reflects the racial worldview—the ideology that humans are divided into separate and exclusive biological entities called “races,” that there is a causal link between inherited physical traits and traits of personality, intellect, morality, and other cultural behavioral features, and that some “races” are innately superior to others.

Is this what she did? I don't think so.
