Kevin Clash

HUGE VICTORY FOR ELMO

in Child Molestation Cases

0701_kevin_clash_gettyPay attention kids, 'cause today's lesson -- YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOSE.

TMZ has learned ... Kevin Clash -- who famously voiced Elmo -- just scored a big victory in the child molestation cases filed against him, after a judge ruled that THREE accusers had waited too long to file their lawsuits.

According to the legal documents filed in federal court in New York and obtained by TMZ, the judge THREW OUT the lawsuits filed by Cecil Singleton, Kevin Kiadii and a 3rd unnamed accuser -- after deciding their cases against Clash had been submitted after the statute of limitations had run out.

We broke the story ... Singleton sued Clash back in 2012 (when he was 23) claiming an adult Clash seduced him when he was 15 years old.  Singleton says they had sexual intercourse years later ... when Cecil was an adult.

In the documents, the judge explains that the statute of limitations to sue expired 3 years after the accusers turned 18 ... therefore, they're all too late.

Clash resigned from his job with Sesame Street after several men -- including Singleton and Kiadii -- came forward with allegations of inappropriate sexual relationships.

Clash has denied any wrongdoing.

Disgusting! This is exactly why we need to support the New York Child Victims Act (A1771) which eliminates statute of limitations in criminal actions and revives civil actions for certain sex offenses committed against a child less than eighteen years of age.

I really can't believe some of you. This is what I hate about "the court of public opinion." Guilty until proven innocent. Really?! These people were just jerks trying to make some quick cash. If there was any sort of wrongdoing, go to the police and have a criminal case, don't go through the civil court. That just SHOWS that he is innocent. If he was any danger or a pedophile, this should have been a criminal case. His career is in shambles now and his image is completely tainted, even if he's innocent. Sad.

I don't believe he did anything wrong. He had sex with these MEN wen they were over 18. They admitte that themselves. Was it inappropriate to reach out to a 15 year old? Absolutely not. But he refrained from having sex until they were of legal age. I these people were truly damage that would want to press charges-not sue. A real victim would want the monster off the streets.

I'm not saying what this guy did was right...however, that Cecil guy had sex with him years later when he was "an adult". Does this not sound like a pissed off ex bf who suddenly decided to bring charges against him??

I'm sorry I missed this article. I did some research when this was going on, and I knew the statue of limitations had expired. The question is - what kind of lawyer would take their money ... they should have known the case would be thrown out and advised them against proceeding.

Since the cases against Kevin Clash is dismissed, it is a big relief. Kevin Clash is a wonderful man who did so many good things for others. And the cases were bought to him because of jealous and greedy individuals trying to take his money and fame. I wish all the best to Kevin Clash.
