'Goonies' Sequel

Steven Spielberg's Brainchild

... Says Richard Donner

4/19/2014 12:58 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

041914_richard_donner_launch_v2Watch your words Corey Feldman ... 'cause "The Goonies" sequel director Richard Donner says he's working on is NOT some rogue side project -- he's working with Spielberg.

Donner tried playing mum on more sequel talk Friday while cruising Beverly Hills -- after he let the cat out of the bag earlier this month -- but the director couldn't contain himself when we asked if Steven Spielberg was also involved.

As we previously reported, Donner wants the original cast to return -- and now that he's got Spielberg behind him ... we're guessing Josh Brolin might be willing to read the script.

HEY YOU GUYS ... it's finally happening!!

This is going to be a huge blockbuster. Everyone underestimates Donner. And with Spielberg along side this awesome origunal cast who has grown in experience. This is one sequel, I won't miss!!! Si happy for the reunion. Keep yp the good news.

Hey, Donner. How about a sequel to "Lost Boys"? Or better yet, "Danger Island"?

Corey, you irrelevant mouth probably just quashed your chance of being part of the Goonie's movie.
Looks like your have to continue being a Rock Star, (IN YOUR OWN MIND).
You're such a joke, you've turned into a character of yourself. Keep running that mouth, fool.

The sequel will defiantly suck. Most of the actor are already washed up.

Just do a reboot. It's a kids movie. A sequel would just be the kids of the old cast doing the same thing. I mean, it was an ok movie thirty years ago, but nothing great.

I'm actually a bit surprised to hear this. I didn't think Spielberg would want any part of a Goonies reboot. Knowing he's behind the project makes me kind of want to see it. Without him, it'd suck entirely but he just might be able to make something likeable.

Who knows, as long as the script is good...Maybe these guys always wished they had done a better job the first time. I didn't think the first one was that great.

How about getting some original movie ideas? Nearly every big budget movie this year (and for the last several years) has been either a sequel, remake, reboot, or spinoff of some other movie.

I hate Speilberg and his awful movies. His propaganda makes me sick.
