Louis Mandylor Daylights End
Louis Mandylor -- best known for his role as Nia Vardalos' brother in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" -- is lucky to be alive after collapsing on the set of his new movie.

Mandylor was shooting scenes in 90+ degree heat Tuesday for the movie, "Daylight's End" ... when he became ill and was rushed to a hospital in Tyler, TX.

Doctors diagnosed the illness as heat exhaustion and dehydration -- which affected Mandylor's kidneys. They're saying kidney failure was on the horizon ... this according to Mandylor's people.

He's expected to recover and should be released from the hospital Friday.

A lesson learned for him: staying hydrated, especially in the summer/heat, is vital to keep healthy. Get that man a big bottle of water!

I don't think it's quite that easy. I spend the entire summer working outside with a crew on some blazing hot days and none of us get dehydrated. Unless he is predisposed to kidney problems, has an aversion to liquids or was dehydrated from a drunk the night before there's more to it.

Hmmmmm........... according to TMZ he's near death, just a step away from kidney failure but he already has a hospital discharge time-frame of less than 72 hours.

Now TMZ wouldn't exaggerate, or would they?

Lots of people work in the heat every day and go home with salt stains on their clothes, not kidney failure. Water isn't good enough, you employer should provide Gatorade or other electrolyte drink. Texas heat and humidity are oppressive, you don't have to be outside longer than 5 minutes before common sense says it could kill you.
