Constantine Maroulis was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly kicking his baby mama in the groin, but the "American Idol" alum insists he was defending himself.
Law enforcement sources tell us, the mother of Constantine's 4-year-old daughter called 911 from their home in Wyckoff, New Jersey claiming he threw her to the ground and kicked her in the groin.
Cops responded and arrested Constantine. They took him to jail where he quickly bailed out.
Constantine's rep tells TMZ, he was acting in self-defense because she attacked him. The singer is adamant that he did NOT kick her, and says the argument started after he told her he was leaving her.
