Despite releasing a single and video filled with sadness, Nick Lachey says he's happy.
Nick admits he is glad he got "the opportunity to experiment and figure out... the things that I wanted to talk about and the way I wanted to talk about them." It's clear from his first single that one of the things he wanted to talk about was his break-up with Jessica Simpson. And from the images in the video, he wanted to talk about them in a dark and somber way. Video
'What's Left of Me' is no 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin' - Jessica's upbeat video that was still in the public eye when their relationship ended. Nick's brooding video is quite a contrast, showing a man facing the tragedy of breaking up.
Yet despite the dark images, Nick says, "I am happy, you know? Life is good and I choose to focus on the positives and not the negatives." It seems that Nick has dealt with some of those "negatives" in a very healthy way - by releasing them into his music.
Nick is looking to the future, discussing his acting work and even mentioning he might reunite with his old boy band, 98 Degrees.
