Med. Board Shut Down in Anna Nicole Trial
Anna Nicole Smith's doctors are free to practice medicine and continue to write prescriptions for controlled substances to patients, even though they're on trial for allegedly fueling Anna Nicole's drug addiction.
The Board wanted the judge in the ongoing trial to immediately suspend the licenses of Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich. The Board also wanted both docs to ante up all their prescription forms for controlled substances ... because it feared their patients were in immediate danger of harm.
Not the greatest argument, according to Ellyn Garofalo, Kapoor's lawyer, who says ... if the Board really felt that way it should have gone after Kapoor and co-defendant Eroshevich 2 1/2 years ago. The judge more than agreed.
Plus, the judge noted, neither doc has been convicted of anything.
By the way, the doctor duo and Howard K. Stern were re-arraigned today on 23 total charges ... they each pled not guilty.
