On this date in 1975, Patty Hearst was arrested in San Francisco for her role in the Hibernia Bank robbery that took place earlier in the year.
Hearst -- who argued she was brainwashed during the time she was held hostage by the Symbionese Liberation Army -- was eventually sentenced to seven years in prison, but had her sentence commuted by President Jimmy Carter after serving 22 months.
She was later pardoned by President Bill Clinton.
