Kate del Castillo has filed legal docs in Mexico asking a judge to muzzle the country's attorney general, whom she says is leaking information about her to gain political hay.
Kate -- who along with Sean Penn secretly interviewed El Chapo while he was on the run -- is being investigated for money laundering. Sources close to Kate claim the allegations are BS, and the only reason the investigation is proceeding is because she embarrassed the government by finding El Chapo when they couldn't.
Sources connected with the Mexican government tell TMZ, her legal docs claim the investigation is required to be conducted with secrecy -- like a grand jury. She claims the A.G. is grandstanding by leaking info and she wants a judge to order her to stop.
There are media reports circulating that she wants an injunction to prohibit the government from arresting her. We've learned those reports are inaccurate. The injunction is to clamp down on leaks.
