The Rock Leads Girls Soccer Team ... In Maori War Dance
YOUTH SOCCER IS WAR!!!!
Here's The Rock leading a girls soccer team in "The Haka" -- a traditional Maori war dance -- during a heated match with another team.
Usually, the dance is performed by the New Zealand national rugby team before a match as a way to intimidate the other team ... and can be super frightening.
Don't worry, The Rock's war dance was all for a movie -- "Fast 8" -- but he explained how things got super real on the set.
"To our Polynesian culture the HAKA is extremely emotional and spiritual. A pre battle ritual where we call upon the recognition of our ancestors and to give us strength."
"And if need be, we are prepared to die today, only because we have lived greatly and proudly as people. I told our director @fgarygray to be prepared for anything from me. I might cry, yell, speak with only my eyes and definitely give me space after every take."
"Now just imagine what this scene is going to look like and emotionally FEEL like when you watch it in theaters on the big screen. I promise you, YOUR MANA will take over. I'm honored to bring you our culture. #Fast8 #IcemanCometh #HAKA #WarriorMana #YouDontWannaMessWithTheseWarriorGirls."
