Iconic Hollywood Stuntman James Lew Dead at 73

James Lew, the Hollywood stuntman and martial artist who appeared in dozens and dozens of action and kung fu films over his career, is dead ... TMZ has learned.

His wife, Jordanna, tells TMZ ... James died Sunday in Los Angeles.

We're told he was battling unspecified health issues ... and his cause of death was not disclosed.

James did fight stunts in several classic flicks, including "Big Trouble in Little China," "Rush Hour," "Action Jackson," "Time Cop," "Lethal Weapon 4" and "Star Trek."

Fans might remember him from his hilarious "Rambo" parody fight with Charlie Sheen in "Hot Shots! Part Deux."

His wife posted a tribute to social media, saying ... "Honey, I imagine you walking the beach with Dudley, sparring with Bruce Lee and finally getting to hug your Dad again. James MF Lew. You are loved and will be deeply missed."

James was 73.
