Jelly Roll was already looking like a single man weeks before news of his split from Bunnie XO became public ... 'cause he ditched his wedding ring during a major CMA Fest performance.

The country star took the stage at Nashville's Nissan Stadium on June 6 ... and looking back at the photos now, one detail jumps out ... there was no wedding band on his finger. At the time, it didn't raise many eyebrows. Now? It tells a very different story.

As TMZ first reported Monday, Jelly filed for divorce from Bunnie XO in Tennessee on May 18, citing "irreconcilable differences" and listing their separation date as May 9.

Jelly Roll apparently broke up with Bunnie XO just days before running to court to file for divorce ... this according to his divorce petition.

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the country singer cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. He filed his petition on May 18.

Jelly listed the date of marriage as August 30, 2016 ... and the date of separation as May 9, 2026 ... a little over a week before he filed for divorce.

Bunnie XO was joking about Jelly Roll on social media just before TMZ first reported he filed for divorce.

Bunnie shared a video of herself singing along to Nickelback's "How You Remind Me" on Instagram, and one fan hopped into the comments and recalled seeing Jelly Roll perform the same song as a surprise guest at The Comedy Store, telling her they'd forever cherish their video of Jelly's performance.

That's when Bunnie chimed in with a playful jab at Jelly, replying in a since-deleted comment ... "he always butchers Nickelback & Creed."

The comment looked like harmless spousal banter at the time, but it now stands out given what was happening behind the scenes.

Bunnie XO isn't wasting any time showing how freaking hot she is ... dropping an insane thirst trap right before we first reported Jelly Roll filed for divorce.

Bunnie shared the sexy photo on social media Monday night ... she's wearing some skimpy, pink lingerie and showing off her curves and tattoos.

Jelly Roll's estranged wife captioned the snap ... "She's getting her sparkle back."

8:15 PM PT -- Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO's split seems to be moving quickly ... 'cause TMZ obtained photos of a moving truck outside the former couple's Tennessee home amid their divorce.

According to court records obtained by TMZ, Jelly Roll filed for divorce from his wife in May in Tennessee. 

Sources tell TMZ ... the divorce was a mutual decision by the two and a private family matter.

Jelly Roll met Bunnie in 2015 before he hit it big ... but things didn't turn romantic until the following year. 

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO are taking another step toward officially untangling their lives ... 'cause TMZ has learned movers were at the former couple's Nashville area home amid their divorce.

TMZ obtained a photo of a large moving truck parked outside the sprawling Tennessee estate Monday while workers appeared to be hauling items out of the property.

It's unclear whether both are moving out or if just one is leaving the home. However, neighbors tell TMZ this is the first time they've seen movers at the residence.

Jelly Roll met Bunnie in 2015 before his rise to country music stardom, and the two married in August 2016 after their relationship turned romantic the year prior.

Their marriage wasn't without turbulence. Bunnie has spoken openly about the couple's multiple breakups and reconciliations over the years, while Jelly Roll has publicly admitted to infidelity, previously calling it "one of my worst moments."
