Paris Hilton

Free Woman

6/7/2007 9:52 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0517-paris-ex-01-2TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton has not only had her sentence cut short, she is already out of jail!

Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early early this morning.

She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but that was reduced to 23. She served a total of five days -- the normal stay for a violation of this kind. Her five days began Sunday night and concluded early Thursday morning.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference in an hour to discuss what went down.

UPDATE 10:16
:
LA County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says that Paris Hilton has been fitted for an ankle bracelet and put under house arrest for the next 40 days, after authorities decided to release Paris from jail due to medical reasons. She got out of jail just after 2:00 AM.

Whitmore says he cannot release details about Paris' "medical issue" due to confidentiality, but said that medical officials "constantly examined" her while she was in jail.

Paris will be under house confinement in her West Hollywood home for 40 days. After the 40 days are up, Whitmore says she will have "fulfilled her debt to society."

Whitmore made it clear that Paris was not released early -- she was reassigned. She is technically still in custody.

MJ RIP

I'm sure her 'problem' was that she was going through MAJOR withdrawls. I have no doubt she's on heavy drugs, like Coke. Day #3 is the worst, I'm sure she thought she was dying. SHE IS DISGUSTING

Why do celebs want to be treated just like everyone else until they get into trouble? Wow Paris you cried your way out of this too! Born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you know the whole "mommy and daddy bought it and I got it " way of life will only get you so far in life Your shocked that people say nasty things about you and yes Paris reads this website believe it or not but there is a 21 year old man in a Georgia jail sentenced to 10 years for having consentual oral sex when he was 17 with a girl who was 15. 10 years for oral sex when they both consented and both under the age of 18. 10 years are you kidding me? He didnt commit a crime, he didnt drink and drive putting himself in a position to hurt anyone. Yet you come along bat your eyelashes and get your way. Hopefully while your at home for the next few weeks stewing in your pity and self wallow since you are so selfish. Think of how lucky you are because others arent as fortunate. think the people who made this call need to lose their jobs over this. We have just seen a complete failure in our legal system.

Whatsnew

It has been mentioned that the Court did not know of hoow the actual time was going to be so dramatically reduced.

I find it sounds like there is some CYA going on here because I find it hard to think that the judge did NOT know how time was calculated in the penal system he convicted people into.

Maybe somewhere down the line some legal/corrections offical will prove to be blameless, but of the ones in the news so, none would seem to pass the muster.

"Celebrity Justice" 82% of the people who have responded to the poll accompanying this article (329,000 people thus far) have felt this ho (isn't that what she prides herself as) got an outcome of a court proceeding that is reserved for the priviledged few; shall we regular folks sit on our hands and continue to allow it? Probably, we will. In Dallas there are exactly 101 pages of attorneys and 15 pages of bondsmen; try calling one for help without money -- and we are not talking small change. Getting the "fix" in that the priviledged are able to enjoy takes not only money, but knowing the right fixer. There has to be a trail in this case. Come on Governor Schwarzeneger; show us your stuff!! Let's get to the bottom this pit. Wait a minute -- our elected president may be about to "pardon" skooder (or is it scoooter) libby; his VP's assistant; even though a jury sequestered by us to determine guilt or innocence found him guilty of Federal crimes; and a Federal Judge hired by us to preside over the proceeding and in case of guilt meet out proper justice sentenced him to prison.
As I said in an earlier post, "You get as much justice as you can afford."

I guess celebrity prison is more like rehab? As quickly as they go in, they come right back out!

Why do I doubt she's learned anything out of this experience?

Oh WAIT...I know! Because she's dumber than a box of rocks!

Sorry # 1005 but my Bible says that God made us all equal. Not that we all act the same and Paris sure could have used some of that time reading her Bible.
I am glad I have control over what my 4 year old watch.

MJ RIP

Boycott Hilton Hotels!!!!!

This chick is seriously addicted to drugs.

What a waste of a life. She could have changed the world for the better. She could have spent her time money and fame helping the poor and those not born in her position. She could have been like Princess Di and spend her time with charities.

She's a waste of a human being. And it's her parent's fault. If it were my kid, and i have three girls, I'd tell her to suck it up, she's lucky it's not me locking her up. Any kid of mine got a DUI then pretended she didn't read the part where she's not supposed to drive anymore would wish she were at a jail rather than house arrest.

Perhaps she can just be fixed so she won't pass on this lazy gene to any offspring. Her life is wasted. Don't put that on a kid.

I think the punishment was extremely harsh to begin with and the 10,000 people complaining hardly represent the opinions of the entire USA population. Additionally why no work release? EVERYONE gets work release.
