Paris Hilton

Free Woman

6/7/2007 9:52 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0517-paris-ex-01-2TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton has not only had her sentence cut short, she is already out of jail!

Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early early this morning.

She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but that was reduced to 23. She served a total of five days -- the normal stay for a violation of this kind. Her five days began Sunday night and concluded early Thursday morning.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference in an hour to discuss what went down.

UPDATE 10:16
LA County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says that Paris Hilton has been fitted for an ankle bracelet and put under house arrest for the next 40 days, after authorities decided to release Paris from jail due to medical reasons. She got out of jail just after 2:00 AM.

Whitmore says he cannot release details about Paris' "medical issue" due to confidentiality, but said that medical officials "constantly examined" her while she was in jail.

Paris will be under house confinement in her West Hollywood home for 40 days. After the 40 days are up, Whitmore says she will have "fulfilled her debt to society."

Whitmore made it clear that Paris was not released early -- she was reassigned. She is technically still in custody.

WHY do they bother to even sentence these people??!!! Didn't anyone see Oprah last week and hear of that family's tragic story...completely caused by a DRUNK DRIVER??!! This moron starlet isn't going to stop drinking and driving, she doesn't care, there are ZERO consequences for her and her kind. It's deplorable....if a tragedy does occur out there and one of these toothpick twits winds up killing a family THEN who do we blame....not them....oh no, THEN it will be the criminal justice system's fault. PATHETIC.
Nicole richie giggling on Letterman last night and SHE DID THE SAME EXACT THING THAT OPRAH's show was talking about....a person under the influence driving on the wrong side of the highway....and there she was CRACKING UP about it. It's deplorable.

I guess the jail is adopting an earlier check out time than the Hilton check-out time of 12 noon.

Hey Jake,

Paris wouldn't give you the time of day, in fact she would probably have her handlers beat you to a pulp.

Paris hates you, and you disgust her.

That is soooo sick. I say everyone who is aginst this injustice protests...this is so unfair...if you have money in America you are above the law....It may not be her fault that American justice system failed here but she is definitely taking advantage of I guess this horrible brat can now make it to her best buddy Lindsey Lohan's birthday party this weekend! What a disgrace to this nation...I guess she slobbed the warden's knob to get out early on "Good Behaviour"...I mean come on that's what she's good at.

Hope she gets drunk next month and kills someone. Then maybe she'll have to serve all 45 days. C#nt.

Our system has broken down. Money talks. I truly wanted to see the little trollup do her time if only for the symbolism that an "heiress" must pay for her crimes as a poor person should.

This is a sad day. Why should anyone trust the system.

I really don't think in the future, she will be driving while intoxicated. This was an emotional challenge for her and famiIy...not to mention us, whether we like her or not. Paris will not stop drinking and partying, because this is how she makes money, i.e., appearing at clubs and getting paid. Hard to stay away from liquor. However, I bet she won't be driving while intoxicated though...she will have her a driver and I bet he won't be a drunk one either. No matter what you say, this girl and her family is NOT dumb to ignore the law again. Welcome home Paris!

This was more of a shield from liability than anything. She was a marked woman. Inmates live to beat the hell out of or kill a famous person. Especially someone like Paris.

If the jail is seriously overcrowded, and this one is, it's near impossible to keep a person from violent inmates. They let her out early to protect themselves from the inevitable law suit for millions and millions of dollars should Paris have been attacked.

Follow the money, folks.

Now that she is out...the first things she should do:

1) Act responsibly, no drunk driving one hour later

2) Do a press conference taking responsibility, to help those she inspires see right and wrong

3) Sign up for those DUI classes she was supposed to take, and stop driving drunk etc.

4) Listen to her DAD'S advice...time for her Father to try to help her get control of the mess of his child's life. So she needs to *listen* to him.

5) Find a more productive way to live than just get drunk at parties

Think it will happen?

Glisten Garbor

She shouldn't have been there in the first place..Judges don't have the right to incarcerate people just because they don't like them..Many thanks to TMZ for the breaking news..Ahead of the rest as usual..

Some of you are saying come on she didn't kill anyone? So then it's okay to drink and drive?? But if she would have killed someone that would have been different. Make her do her time like she was supposed to so she doesn't do it again and then kill someone. This is completely unfair and just because she has money doesn't mean she should be free. She needs to serve her time and to her community.
