Michael Vick to Judge:

I'm Guilty As Charged

8/20/2007 3:22 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0820_michael_vick_bn_getty-1Michael Vick just plea bargained his dogfighting criminal case.

A federal grand jury was scheduled to hear testimony today. His co-defendants have already struck deals and turned on the NFL star.

We're told Vick has pleaded guilty to some charges. We're investigating.

According to one report, Vick will likely get a prison sentence -- we don't know the duration.

The report claims that next Monday, Vick will enter a guilty plea to charges of felony conspiracy. Vick's lawyer is quoted as saying, "Mike's accepting full responsibility. He's going to do everything he can personally and professionally to make this situation right."

UPDATE: The NFL has issued the following statement: "We are aware of Michael Vick's decision to enter a guilty plea to the federal charges against him and accept responsibility for his conduct. We totally condemn the conduct outlined in the charges, which is inconsistent with what Michael Vick previously told both our office and the Falcons. We will conclude our own review under the league's personal conduct policy as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have asked the Falcons to continue to refrain from taking action pending a decision by the commissioner."

I believe that we have lost our sense of logic and common sense. We all allow our emotions to take over, especially in cases like Michael Vicks. Basic logic must prevail and it probably won't. If I were the judge I would have to ask myself some basic questions and find good answers.

Did Vick break the law? Yes. Is he guilty? He has indicated that he is. What is the best form of punishment. Now this is the good part if logic would prevail.

What good does it do the world (Vick and dogs and dog lovers) if Vick goes to jail? Answer, none. Why not, as punishment, fine Vick 5 million dollars, payable to the SPCS or any other charity that works to help canines. Let him continue to play football and for every year that he plays he is required to contribute a high percentage of his salary and any bonus to animal charities. On top of that any endorsements that he does, all of the money goes to Animal charities.

Now, we would be applying a punishment that would benefit the victims. This punishment would also save the taxpayers money.

He should be electrocuted, have his had smashed in the wall and drowned.
Anyone whom abuses an animal for the purpose of financial gain is pathetic.
He needs to be Banned from the NFL for life......If they don't Ban him it shows you that all they care about is Money and not the game.

I have been subjected several times now to seeing Vick make his statement on TV. He did the cruelest things possible to helpless animals, making them fight each other to the death, torturing and brutally killing animals who wouldn't fight or who lost a fight. Vick hung dogs, drowned dogs, beat dogs, slammed dogs into the ground until they died, and buried dogs alive. Never did I hear him own up to his brutal behavior, and instead I heard him say that his behavior was "immature". His behavior was brutal, uncivilized, cruel beyond belief, and he committed CRIMINAL acts. For him to call his actions just "immaturity" is an insult to intelligent human beings. I don't think he feels the slightest true remorse. He could have said more to favorably influence young people who are out copying his evil behavior with dogs. I wish the State would press felony charges and add them to the Federal charges. Maybe he would get the necessary time to realize what he really did, and to feel true remorse instead of making a fake statement that indicated no true regret. Vick's father said he has always abused animals. Vick is a menace to society and animal abusers go on to even worse crimes.

It restores my faith in humanity to read these emails - how outraged people are regarding Michael Vick. To treat animals that way is beyond dispickable. He should be locked up for the maximum sentence, and if there is any justice, his fellow inmates will beat the Hell out of him. What a terrible human being. He should never be allowed to play football again.

There is NO excuse for what Michael Vick has done over a period of YEARS. We don't understand how Michael Vick's fighting and torturing of dogs, racketeering, and crossing state lines escaped notice, but we are waiting for justice in this case. In most states dog fighting, as well as even spectators of dog fights, face a felony conviction. Vick supposedly transported dogs to South Carolina, and they have stepped up to the plate, as have many other states, in convicting those engaged in fighting dogs, and gave the maximum sentence. Only by imposing the law can these criminal activities be stopped.

We, our friends, and our families do not want to ever watch the Falcons again if Michael Vick is playing on that team. We do not want our children to see Vick, either playing football or on TV. We want our children to look up to players with ethics, integrity, good character and compassion. There are many good football players who are not involved in criminal activities nor committing heinous crimes. We do not believe that Vick is at all sincere in his comments on TV. He did not take responsibility for his actions, which were not merely immature nor just poor judgement, as he stated, but were criminal acts.

Vick still lies about gambling and racketeering, and he tortured animals, making them fight to the death, torturing and brutally killing animals who wouldn't fight or who lost a fight. Vick hung dogs, electrocuted dogs, drowned dogs, beat dogs, slammed dogs into the ground until they died, and buried dogs alive. I do not think he feels the slightest true remorse. He is a menace to society.

Vick could have said more to favorably influence young people who are copying his evil behavior with dogs. I wish the State would press felony charges and add them to the Federal charges. Maybe then he would be sentenced to the appropriate time to realize what he really did, and to feel true remorse, instead of making a fake statement that indicated no true regret. Vick's father said Vick has always abused animals. Vick is a dangerous person, and animal abusers go on to commit even worse crimes.

We are waiting for the State Grand jury indictment of Vick, and for the State to file felony charges for the criminal activities. Many people were involved with Vick, including young people who need to understand that people have to be responsible for their own actions.

We heard the VA grand jury is convening regarding Vick's case. We are hoping for prosecution and conviction, which will protect the innocent and will serve as an example to young people who might have been influenced by this crime.
