Apple dater of our eye, Kathy Griffin, is always looking for attention, but last night she actually deflected it from herself and instead thrust it on Lakers basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar!
TMZ caught the D-list fame whore outside of Mastro's last night, where she proudly had dinner with her Emmy award, and instead of basking in the glow of paparazzi light, she pointed out the 7'2" behemoth lumbering our way. How'd we almost miss him?!
Kareem, who turned 60 (!) this year, didn't share Kathy's enthusiasm for the camera.

I don't care what anybody else thinks.....Kathy is funny, off the hook, inappropriate in the best way possible and puts those snotty celebs in their places. Plus....she really seems to be real --- what you see is what you get and if you don't like it you can, well, as she says "suck it!"

Kathy Griffin is wildly irreverent (sometimes uncomfortably so), keeps it utterly real and is falling down FUNNY. She refuses to take the whole celebrity obsession thing seriously, AND I LOVE HER FOR THAT! She'll mock anyone, nobody is sacred. The best comics are not appreciated in their time, and this is true for her also - TEAM KATHY! TEAM KATHY! TEAM KATHY!
