TMZ has learned family members and professionals in Britney's life are working as a team to get her mental help -- either voluntarily or involuntarily -- for treatment of what appears to be a severe bipolar disorder.
We're told it's going to happen one way or the other, and fast. So far, Britney refuses to commit herself voluntarily, but the team is persisting.
Sources say they are considering "a number of options," some of which are "creative."
The most extreme option -- going to court and getting an order forcing Britney into in-patient treatment. That would be the last ditch effort.
If involuntary commitment is the only option, Brit must be picked up by cops -- again -- on a "5150," meaning she's a danger to herself or others. Then, while she's in the hospital, health care professionals can go to the County Public Guardian, who can then go to court and ask for what's called a "conservatorship." The conservator would then basically assume control of Brit's life.
If the judge grants the conservatorship, Brit could be involuntarily committed to a mental hospital. Again, that's not the only option and various alternatives are being discussed right now.

Britney Spears has to want the help, help can't just want to come to her, it's good that that
help is being offered, but Brit has to want to get it and so far she has been in denial.
If she needs the 5150 don't take her to Cedars Sinai, take her somewhere else.
TMZ - this is perfect - it plays on her extreme paranoia while getting her to act out in ever more bizarre ways for the entertainment of the masses!
Meanwhile K Fed & his attorneys plan a take over of her dem fem $$$ Zillions - perfect - thanks TMZ!
If she doesn't go willingly, it will be no more successful than the first time. These people are all 3 fries short of a Happy Meal.
I hope Britney gets help:
- on her own and out of sight and out of reach of her parents, Osama, K-Fed, Ali, etc. etc.
I then hope she makes her first priority NOT getting her kids back, but fighting all who would put an involuntary conservatorship on her and her assets -- IN COURT. I also hope she sues to have Dr. Phl formally reprimanded, and sues any and all who try to profit from her name without her permission
I then hope she leaves town permanently and puts a restraining order on all paps and specific enablers
I then hope she mends her relationship with her family, BUT ONLY on the condition that they NEVER speak about her to the media again -- as a penance for the scandal of the way they raised her. Otherwise no further communication -- except as necessary through lawyers.
I then hope she works out an amicable custody arrangement with K-Fed, as a patrticipating parent, for the sake of the children, and takes her responsibilities seriously
I then hope she uses what "brand" value she has to benefit serious and worthwhile charities, including those of mental illness, and reforming the privacy laws affecting underage celebrities and celebrity children

Do they even know where she is? Didn't she split to somewhere with that swarthy pap guy? Sounds to me like she's on the run, but since she needs publicity like other people need oxygen, maybe that's why she hooked up with a pap, so she can keep getting her pics taken even when she's trying to avoid being committed!

So she's wild... so what! IF THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR WARRANTED SOMEONE TO BE INSTITUTIONALIZED, YOU KNOW HOW MANY ROCK STARS AND OTHER CELEBS WOULD BE IN PADDED ROOMS??? I don't see how her getting angry at a paps triggered this "mental illness" drama.. PLEASE! JUST CAUSE SHE'S FEMALE?? ALEC BALDWIN ATTACKED A PAP AND HE WASN'T COMMITTED! Now she tries to spend extra moments with her child and she's crazy???? You know how many people run away with their children?? They weren't crazy nor committed either!
