Plaxico Burress Gets Time

Plaxico BurressPlaxico Burress just won a delay in his gun case.

Today's hearing was set for pre-trial issues but Burress' lawyer said he needed more time. The judge agreed to push the court date back to June 15.

There have been reports that Plaxico is trying to plea bargain the second-degree gun possession felony charge. If convicted, Plax could get up to 15 years in prison.

Look for a plea bargain ...

3. I am pretty sure the maxximum sentance he can get is 3.5 years not 15 for what he is charged with.....

4. Duh, if you watched the regular news yesterday TMZ would have heard a plea was in the works. As they said 90% of these cases are reduced with a plea deal.......

9. He should do some time. That was really stupid. 1st, has the guy never heard of a credit card? Why carry so much cash that feel the need to carry a gun in to a club. 2nd is is way too stupid to handle a gun, showing his mad skills by shooting himself. What a retard. 3rd, if something had happened and someone came after his bling or his wad of cash, was he really going to start shooting? I say he was just dumb enough to do it. This is socially unacceptable behavior, and he should do some time for it. 15 years is way too long, but a year in the can would do him good.

11. My respect for Eli Manning has just dropped to zero. I heard this morning that he texted Plaxico "to hang in there buddy" like equating his court date to a rough tooth extraction. Do these guys feel they are immune to laws that apply to everyone else? All I can say is thank god the moron only shot himself. I love New York football teams but if this guy doesn't do jail time, I'll never watch another Giants game.

12. Plaxico's lawyer needed more time to prepare for the case, because he was having a hard time explaining to Plaxico the concept of "the BAR". Plaxico: "the judge is a member of what BAR? Can I get into that bar? How much are the drinks at that bar?"

13. These are the type people our young people are looking at on our ball fields. No wander we are having so much trouble with them. Very poor examples. Get them out of PRO. SPORTS. There are others who are capable of taking their place who can handle the big money and popularity and still be a example to our children.

He will do time...the mayor is adamant about making an example out of him and to reinforce to all people in NYC, you cant walk around with a gun, cant even get a permit to walk around with it---so anytime he can get a big name dope like Plaxico to show "see I'm equal with doling out justice" all the more reason Plax will do State Prison Time...

Plus other in the NFL need to get the message if you're going to come to NY, dont bring a gun or a tude.

Recall too, in Illinois, Tank Johnson when with the Bears did County Jail time for him having guns without a permit to have them in Illinois.

Poor Plax, a year ago he was on the View being a hero for that catch to win the Super Bowl---year later he's on Court TV.
