Kiefer Will Be Charged with Crime

Kiefer SutherlandWe've confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland will be charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with the headbutting incident earlier this week.

Kiefer headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough at an event after-party on Monday -- an attack Jack says was completely unprovoked. We're told Kiefer says he did it after Jack pushed Brooke Shields.

The New York Daily News broke the story. Kiefer will show up at the NYPD and get a desk appearance ticket and his arraignment date will be set.

A rep from the L.A. City Attorney's office tells TMZ they will contact the NYPD and the D.A. to get details and then decide if they will try and revoke Kiefer's probation. He's currently on probation for a DUI.

23. To jared #4 - YOU ARE THE MAN!!! So true! Heard a bio. of "Stand By Me" and the guys told about how Keifer played a bully in the movie and bullied them off camera as well. Real tough guy -- picking on little kids. I can't stand the sight of him.

29. KS may be an alcoholic, but what he did was ask the guy to apologize, then got pushed. He's lucky all Kiefer did was headbutt him. All of you nut jobs who hate him or feel you should call him names, what would you do? Probably wuss out and take it up the rear. I agree with #22 m. Kiefer is awesome and a badass to boot.
