Sources at "American Idol" tell us the margin between Kris Allen and Adam Lambert "wasn't even close" -- and the biggest factor in Allen's win was Danny Gokey.
Here's what we know. The "lion's share" of Gokey's votes went to Kris Allen. The extent of the lopsidedness surprised a lot of the big wigs at "A.I." We were not told the exact votes but our sources say the AT&T scandal had no impact on the outcome -- the spread was that wide.

5. Sooo, actually, as our daily reported many weeks ago, it was the *church* vote?! If Allen would've lost, those votes would've gone to Gokey -- and it happened vice versa. With all due respect, Lambert didn't stand a chance among the bible thumpers. I believe in G-d, too...but it doesn't influence my AI vote!!

10. People are missing the point, whether Kris still won by a lot is irrelevant. What is important is that one of the main sponsors acted unethically, by showing one fan base how to "essentially cheat" the system. It is against the rule to "power vote".

11. We knew it wasn't close. AI/Ryan Seacrest would have said so, as they did when Reuben and Clay competed.
However, Adam should have won. But he is not conservative enough for the American AI voters. And for all those people say Adam screams , did you watch when he sang subdued songs beautifully like "Tracks of My Tears" and "Mad World"?
(AT & T should not have helped Kris Allen's fans out unless they did the same for Adam. IMO. Damages the already screwed up AI voting system and reputation).

12. Danny Gokey supporters were posting some really really nasty/homophobic stuff about Adam on all the blogs. Basically saying "Support Chris we can't let that homo Adam win. So this isn't really a shock.

13. Well when 38 million votes come out of a state with a population under 3 million (AT&T, FOX, AP all claimed that, then "suddenly"/ very quickly retracted it)- I wonder why the margin was so wide. But the AT&T phones had nothing to do with it. I may watch AI in the future, but I won't spend anytime, let alone any $ voting on this sham of a competition.
