6/25/2009 6:20 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

mj-dies-1We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. A cardiologist at UCLA tells TMZ Jackson died of cardiac arrest.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.

A source inside the hospital told us there was "absolute chaos" after Jackson arrived. People who were with the singer were screaming, "You've got to save him! You've got to save him!"

We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.

La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Devistated Fan

I am truly devistated that this great and fascinating man has passed from this world. I believe he suffered enough here on earth and it is soo sad that some poeple are glad to see any human being die and rejoice in it. He was a genious and never insisted that he was perfect and I will always believe he was prayed upon by those who were seeking financial security off his dollar. You have to question the motives of a parent who would rather take money than to see a person who cause such pain to their child be prosecuted. Why isn't anyone judging them. Being a parent myself, if an adult stole my child's innocence I would wipe them from the face of the earth not take their money. No matter how you may feel about him, he was the greatest entertainer who ever lived and a human being. His self-esteem was not great dispite the fame and his sole was lonely because he never had something most of us were able too, a childhood. RIP MJJ

When it came time to vote for which image of Elvis to put on a US postage stamp – the choice between the lean, leather-clad, “All Shook Up”, rhythm-and-blues/rockabilly-hybrid Elvis, and the bloated, jumpsuit-wearing, Las Vegas-imprisoned, drug-addicted Elvis – the former won overwhelmingly. That is the image I voted for, as well as the one I prefer to preserve. The Elvis of Sam Phillips’ Sun Records, recording in the same studio along side the likes of Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. When it comes to Michael Jackson, I prefer to remember the string-vested, mod-clad, “Who’s Loving You?”, family front-man Michael as opposed to the mask-wearing, surgically-altered, umbrella-protected alleged pedophile Michael. The Michael Jackson of Berry Gordy’s Motown, recording in the same studio alongside the likes of Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye. That’s the default mage for me. The guy was doing Jackie Wilson covers at 6-years-old. He was as much a prodigy as Mozart.

Having a hard time really believing he is gone. Was hoping he could make a come-back and share his incredible talent once again. Thanks for the memories and music that just made you feel energized!! RIP Michael

When David Ruffin, long since removed from the success of The Temptations, died, impoverished and virtually forgotten, of a drug overdose, it was Michael Jackson, solely and apart from any of the other former Motown stars, who stepped in and paid for the funeral. Michael reestablished the dignity that had escaped David for so many years, even if it was for only a single day. Doesn’t Michael deserve at least that much now?

Michael Jackson
At a young age he inspired so many to sing and dance,
He sang and danced his heart out,
He devoted his life to his fans and music,
He entertained for most of his life.
He may or may not have done things people say he did,
And we may have different views of his personal affairs,
But we all must admit that without him,
We would perceive the music industry differently,
No, he wasn't just a person, who sang and danced,
He was a legend... he was the "King of Pop",
That, he will stay forever... whether you loved him or not,
We sing/play his songs in video games, we imitate his moves,
Big TV shows use his songs/moves,
We all remember him for something.
Many artists from different genres today were encouraged by him,
Without him, some artists we love (from every genre) today,
May not have kept going without his inspiration,
So those who say, "Whatever", "Cool", "I'm glad", or anything negative about his death,
I say this, we all may not agree with his ways, but at least he gave his all,
To the world, no questions asked, since he was a child...
Give him the respect every person deserves...
Rest in Peace Michael Jackson

You know, I have seen many negative comments people saying so what and get over it people die. Things is these people fro whatever reason didn’t like the man or his music and without knowing he assumed he was guilty. If only a mere accusation with no proof and speculation is enough to make a person guilty of something, God help us all.

But here is my point. If you do not like him do not go on blogs that discuss him--change the channel. It's simple really. I have cable; I know not every channel is talking about his death.

Besides, you don't have to mourn if you don't want to --but let those who wish to do so do it. Problem is you want people to think and feel the way you do about the matter. Sorry control freaks, it won’t happen—so go into the corner, congratulate yourself on how much smarter you are than everybody else and leave the mourners in peace.

I mean, you may not think much of him but as some have stated, people do die everyday, even celebrities--but only certain stars, Like Elvis and John Lennon get people to take to the streets when they pass on. No matter what you personally think, the man was loved. So keep you smart comments to yourself turn the channel and leave those who want to grieve alone.

Mike's Friend

God know's, I Want You Back. When you put on that Full Armour of God, the battle was on, but the war was already won. Maybe not as simple as ABC, but heart felt moments joy and sometimes your own mystery. Person not known to many, boy not grown to plenty. Locked inside a world for fear, that open doors will reveal what is the real Thriller. Black and White such a dedicated life maybe not so chosen, but why had i never touched you. Deny the son of Billie Jean and act your way into The Wiz , and wake up it's a Bad dream for me because We Are The World, and still caught up in it. The P.Y.T needs a college education, and our own children are covered with Blankets. The kids today with their childhood on turbo, fast forward, now the Man In The Mirror playing out the rest of his days Living Off The Wall. Felt your spirit yesterday, today sadness consumed my being, and tomorrow we will Rock With You again.
Thank you Michael for sharing your gift with all of us. Your spirit will always be very near to my heart.
My prayers go out to Michael' s children, and his family who will miss him dearly.
May you rest in peace.
Your friend! Your fan! Your extended family!
