Michael Jackson's Last Art Purchase

Michael Jackson bought some pretty expensive art two weeks before he died.

MIchael Jackson Art

On June 11, Jackson purchased a picture of the Wicked Witch of the West, a painting called "The Donut Queen," and a painting called "Play Ball." The artist for all three works was Nelson De La Nuez. Jackson plunked down $13,000 for the three items, which were delivered to his home on June 15.

We're told Jackson was "obsessed" with the Wicked Witch painting.

Here's the weirdest part. Someone from AEG handled the money side of the transaction. We have the bank wire -- AEG dealt directly with the art seller.

62. I used to think he was a freak, but I think he was just childish because he was a mega star at 5 years old and never had a "normal" childhood. R.I.P Mr. Jackson. I'll pray for your family and fans.

63. Why did you delete these posts??

64. These aren't paintings!! They are nothing more than ripped off images of other artist's work that have been Photoshopped, and printed onto canvas with an inkjet printer. Dabs of paint are added to the canvas (like shopping mall artist Thomas Kinkade) to fool people into thinking they are buying an original artwork. Michael Jackson got RIPPED off instead of RIP. The Witch "painting" rips Warhol, the donut "painting" rips off artist Mark Ryden, and the baseball "painting" is other artists work Photoshopped together. These were sold to Michael for a GIANT profit by this vulture con-artist. My guess is that TMZ was contacted my the artist and his PR machine hoping to get miles of good press out of this story. TMZ should investigate the con-artist to find out why these inkjet "paintings" of other artist's work were are SO EXPENSIVE?!!

TMZ needs to investigate this artist - That might be an interesting story.

65. I saw this person's comments on here regarding Mr. De La Nuez's paintings and had to say something, because I am a huge collector of his art and he has so many fans worldwide. I personally own 13 hand painted pieces of his and will be buying 3 more this week before he sells out. His work is amazing and definitely not computer created-I own them and, therefore, I know--this sad person above sounds like perhaps a jealous artist, but he is definitely ignorant and uneducated by his comments. This should not be a forum for debating beautiful works of art that Mr. Jackson loved and owned, but for celebrating his life and perhaps talking of the beauty of the art and the fun, whimsical quality that is in all of Mr. De La Nuez's work & the painstaking painting involved. His art is unique and cannot be compared to artists of yesteryear--this person above is not very well versed in the true art world. He also knows nothing about Nelson De la Nuez's art-his Wicked Witch that I am now buying is a result of him being the 70th Anniversary artist for Warner Bros. He is a prestigious artist, who I first found in Europe and am now a dedicated collector. I don't think TMZ should allow such silly critics on this forum, but since you did, I had to speak, since I am an informed collector with the actual art in my home and my own business. I hope the artist laughs at such comments if he happens to see them. He is true brilliance and Michael Jackson-one creative mind to another-could appreciate that.

66. Let me ask any parent here... would you sell out to the man that SUPPOSEDLY molested your child for ANY amount of money? Would your child be worth $22 million dollar pay off???? My answer is HELL NO. No amount of money ever would pay me off if I really believed or cared that my child has been molested by this man. That immediately signaled to me back in 1993 that that father was just after ONE THING --- cold hard cash and that the allegations were completely false. I never looked back since, and when 2005 allegations came about, I said to myself --- here we go again, someone else trying to exploit money from Michael Jackson because he has so much of it. He had 14 counts charged on him and he was COMPLETELY ACQUITTED on ALL 14 charges... not one or two or three... ALL OF THEM. I knew it was completely bogus and people were being opportunists and leeches... ALL of them just leeches.

May he finally get the peace in death he sought after in life for soooo long.

67. Micheal subconsiously bought the picture of the person responsible for the world judging him Nancy Grace.
Micheal wrote a song that he often cried when he sang it called "who is it?" my heart bleads for him and for what we have become
