Ryan Jenkins -- No Remorse

8/23/2009 10:10 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

We've learned someone had a chance meeting with accused murderer Ryan Jenkins the night he escaped to Canada, and he was cool, calm and collected.

Law enforcement sources tell us after Jenkins docked his boat but before his short walk to the Canadian border, he had a conversation with someone who had no idea Jenkins was on the run. The person told law enforcement there was "no sign of remorse" and Jenkins acted as if everything were fine.

And law enforcement sources say they have a "reason to believe" Jenkins' parents have been assisting him. One law enforcement source says he believes Ryan enlisted their help before anyone knew that Jasmine Fiore had been murdered and he lied to them. But authorities believe they may still be assisting him.

The parents are divorced and live in separate cities in Canada. They have tremendous financial means. Law enforcement sources say after Ryan became a suspect, his father's plane came in from Honduras -- Ryan's dad developed a resort on an island off Honduras.

Authorities don't know where Jenkins is hiding presently, but they believe he needs the assistance of family and friends.

Around where he dumped the body is pretty active I can only think of one building where it is abandoned and that is right near the dumpster but he would still have had to of crossed across many apartments where people lived and I wouldnt be surprised if anyone was awake at the time since its summer and its a shady neighborhood I'm just saying after he got this far is seems like he wouldnt risk dumping her body where it was found

@ Marni: The RCMP may have a "crapload" of other cases to work on...rather than solve the murder of an *American* model, but you're leaving something rather important out.

The (presumed) killer is CANADIAN.

Your country's filth infiltrated our country and killed one of our Citizens. The RCMP have an obligation to search for this CANADIAN killer and return him to the location of the crime to face the music.

Next time, think before you post dear.

Actually the more I learn about the "victim" in this homicide, the my sympathetic I feel toward the "suspect". I believe he is no longer in Canada, but in a country with no extradition treaty with the US.

Law Enforcement has demonstrated supreme incompetence here, this guy dragged a boat several hundred miles to the Canadian border, easily motored to a nearby dock, strolled into Canada, walked away totally unmolested.

Either the cops are stupid, or they let him go.

Because it is totally easy to ID a body with no teeth and fingers, come up with a suspect and then catch him while he is on the run in the first couple of days.

"Specific details of the investigation and evidence supporting this belief cannot be made public at this time, however, "the RCMP is now prepared to say that information believed to be credible suggests that Mr. Jenkins is presently in Canada," said RCMP Sgt. Duncan Pound.

Various investigative techniques are currently underway and narrowing the search for Ryan Jenkins, police said.

Sad sad

ly9512 thanks for that. I wonder if he was looking at investing in some properties which may be why he knew of that place. Doesn't he do real estate? I'm tired my brains not working. If that's the case that would make some sense.

Accused killer Ryan Jenkins found dead in B.C., police confirm

METRO VANCOUVER — Fugitive Ryan Jenkins, wanted in the murder of his swimsuit model ex-wife, has been found dead in a motel in Hope, police have confirmed.

It appears the reality TV star "took his own life," said RCMP Sgt. Duncan Pound, spokesman for the RCMP’s federal border integrity program.

"The hotel staff had gone in to check on him... it would be speculation to say how long he had been in there."

RCMP made the announcement at a press conference minutes ago.

Just three hours earlier, Mounties met with the media to confirm that the reality TV star is hiding out in western Canada.

Jenkins was charged Aug. 20 in California with murder in the death Jasmine Fiore, whose mutilated body was found stuffed in a suitcase inside a trash bin Aug. 15 in Buena Park, Calif., about 30 kilometres southeast of Los Angeles.
