Randy Quaid -- Cops Say

He's Done this Before

9/24/2009 3:06 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe Randy and Evi Quaid have a pattern of staying in pricey hotels and stiffing the joints when they leave .. and that's why authorities are trying to nail the Quaids for burglary.

There's an arrest warrant out for the Quaids for allegedly stiffing the San Ysidro Ranch near Santa Barbara out of thousands of bucks. Our sources say the reason there's a burglary warrant out for them is because cops believe when they rented the hotel room they had the intention of staying without paying -- and that fits the definition of burglary.

Our law enforcement sources tell us the reason they believe the Quaids were scamming the San Ysidro Ranch from the get-go is because they have evidence they've done it before. Our sources say the Quaids stiffed the uber-ritzy Bel Air Hotel in L.A., among other places.

In addition to burglary, the arrest warrant also lists the felony of defrauding an innkeeper.

We have been unable to reach Quaid.

UPDATE: Conspiracy is also listed on the Quaids' arrest warrants -- their bail is set at $20,000 each.

Too bad for these hotels; they are getting what they deserve for giving celebrities special treatment. I know when I check in I have to give a credit card and they run it to make sure I can pay. Clearly this was not done!

THIS is just pathetic!! A so-called "celebrity" not paying their hotel bill? Oh and I see they sure don't stay at no Super 8 either!! No gotta rip off the "luxury" suites. All I can say is normal WORKING CLASS folks stupidity like THIS does not even enter their minds. What the credit card declined? If you are that stupid and know you are up to your limit I guess you have to pay CASH like the rest of us !! What a couple dumb-asses !! I find this hilarious but not for the hotels - they should be going after them for what they owe an utter disgrace BOTH of them!

They should be prosecuted to full extent of the law. Just like anyone else that commits this type of crime. The days of rock stars smashing hotels up and taking off is gone!It seems these two are just trash, and need to pay double with a stay in jail for a couple of months, community service is all the Hollyweird get. They need to be accountable for their actions and fraud! It would hopefully send a loud message to others that feel the need to take advantage of 1 or a 5 star spa, hotel or any business. Maybe they can move in with the Jacksons as they all seem to be on the same page of abusing any type of business they come near.

I live in Marfa and have had a great time watching Evi's antics. The mayor is a good friend of mine so I could do without offending him or attempting to disrupt our city council meetings. The yellow paint incident was just insane. I have pictures of it. All in all, I hope they come back to Marfa after they get out of prison. They're never-ending entertainment, but certainly not in the way I think Randy ever meant to be.

Maybe cousin Eddy was just staying in the parking lot with his motorhome. Have the hotel check the storm drains for a green ooze.

This is surprising. I know he didn't make millions, but he did make something. If he had handled himself and his money right, he
would not have to be doing this.
And to put his wife through this, that's sad.
Unneccessary and sad. A sign of bad character.

I loved him in Independence Day. Sounds like he may not have been stretching too much to find the core of his character there. (Although the character turned out to be brave and honorable in addition to being bat-sh*t crazy.)

In their delusional Hollywood minds they probably thought they were going to be "comped."
That's where a celebrity gets free goods and services in turn for the publicity they can bring to an establishment.
So say if someone more like ,say Brad Pitt, eats somewhere this will attract all kinds of celebrity chasing types who think they'll get to rub elbows with a star.
Trouble is Randy Quaid may not have that same allure.
