3. Dame Shirley Bassey performed before a rapturous audience last Friday Oct 23rd at the BBC electric proms. The concert was streamed live on radio two and televised on BBC2 the following night, if you have access to bbc iplayer you can watch it there. Dame Shirley is releasing her first studio album for ten years on Nov 9Th called The Performance and at 72yrs with over fifty of them at the top of the tree she is still an astonishing talent and consummate professional. In her routine she sang many old favourite plus new tracks written especially for her. The voice is still magnificent and effortless, the performance as ever was awesome. She's still got it - She owns it.
